Is WestJet free?
Yes, WestJet is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is WestJet legit?
⚠️ The WestJet app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
Zero-budget app. As a weekly business flyer, I have 14 other airline’s apps on my phone. This is by far the worst of them all. Basic functionality is not there. Why even have an app if you’re going to put so little effort into making it usable? Ended up having to check in on the main website. Don’t even bother downloading this. Good grief.
Incompetent airline, go bust
Terrible airline. They do not answer phones and they deserve to be out of business. Will never fly them again.
Do not fly Westjet
They chance flights constantly. They won’t pay their mechanics (What about the Boeing issues!?!), so they went on strike, and now they cancelled hundreds of flights and are NOT ANSWERING THEIR PHONES or allowing customer to change fights on the app.
Delta, their partner, will not help At All.
Run away as fast as you can.
Print your boarding pass
Don't use the in-app boarding pass feature, at least not at SeaTac. The security scanners refused to scan my QR code
Horrible App
It doesn’t allow me to get a boarding pass and I can’t review a seat map and make edits to my seat. Overall bad experience.
Crappy app
Just downloaded this app, tried to create an account (several times) and the crappy app keeps telling me that it couldn’t connect with WestJet. I think I should avoid this airline.
Worst airline app ever!
Won't let me download boarding passes to my Apple wallet.Takes forever to load to do the simplest things. I constantly get "technical error" or "payment error" but then the charge goes through multiple times (but app won't confirm the seat change). Won't let me add a bag. I've never experienced such a useless airline app!
Horrible customer service and app
Trying to open an account and add prepay bag but encounter “technical error” and had to call in. When you call in, they made multiple transfer and made you wait.
Errors everywhere
It seems like every other thing I try to do on the app just results in an error. Trying to select your seat? Error. Trying to add bags? Believe it or not - error!
Worst airline app I've seen
Can't sign up for an account (server error, same behavior on their website).
Can't paste a reservation code to add a flight to the app -- have to enter it by hand one letter at a time, switching screens repeatedly.
Can't check in. Error says check in is available today after 1:50pm (24 hours before departure). It's 6pm, about 20 hours before departure.
So far I haven't been able to accomplish a single task in the app.
It's trash and deserves a trash rating.
