A terrible app if you’re looking for something they’re not promoting. Hitting the load more button may take 10 or 20 goes to load more content from your favourite content creator. I hope this review ends up on the podcast,your stupid opinions. You have to pay for the privilege of not getting what you want
Podcasts are great to listen to, but the app is horrible to use. I’ve paid for Wondery+ and have to restore my purchase EVERY time I reopen the app (this happens regardless of if my Apple account is linked or not). There are often times I can’t get it to restore at all. Listening ad-free is great but I often I go back to using Apple Podcasts and put up with them because I can’t be bothered wasting time trying to get Wondery to recognise my subscription (which I will not be renewing at this stage). I can’t find the ability to create a playlist, or at least save episodes to listen to later without downloading them. Like other reviews, it tells me I’m offline when I’ve got strong signal or linked to wifi.
A lot of their content needs a subscription which can be a bit of a tease. In regards to glitches and problems though, the app is pretty good
The podcasts are undoubtedly very good, but the app design is excruciatingly frustrating to use. It feels like I’m using a basic app from 2012; it’s overly simplistic and lacks features that all other streaming apps have now well adopted.
I’ve been charged for Wondery plus after cancelling. Don’t even have access to the ad free version. Have emailed twice with no response.
Great stories, articles and top class story telling in dirty John, Dr death, price of paradise, lost city But the app functioning is so clumsy, crashes constantly so I have to delete it and reload.
In Australia, distances are huge and there is no radio signal or phone signal for hundreds of kilometres and for hours on end. Wondery solves that for us by downloading dozens of podcasts in advance. So, even when there is no signal, we have the luxury of listening to a range of podcasts. Our favourites are “Against the Odds” and “Mr. Ballen’s Medical Misteries” but there are many many more to choose from. Wondery is one of the best value entertainment subscriptions available and adds to our Big Trip pleasure. Thanks Wondery!
Good shows to listen to but the app experience is frustrating. Constantly says I’m offline when I have good reception or on wifi. Can’t seem to get things to mark as played. Some episodes are not in order. Episodes often don’t auto start. Just keeps suggesting the same shows even after you’ve listened to them already… The list goes on. Overall it’s slow, clunky and kills the experiences
Brilliant podcasts but the app can be unusable at times. It consistently tells me I’m offline and redirects me to downloads even when I have full wifi and 4 bars
I’m new to Wondery, but so far I love the content. So many interesting stories to listen to.
