This is app is a premium subscription app yet it fails to deliver basic functionality such as correct timestamping, running in the background without failing and just playing back a podcast. If it weren’t for the content I would probably cancel this in an instant.
Hi, I’ve been listening to several podcasts of Wondery on Spotify and Apple Podcast. Since I got really annoyed of all the commercials during the podcasts,I decided to download the Wondery app and hope the casts would run without all the commercials. I took a yearly subscription of about 35$, however the podcasts are still full of commercials... I really do like the podcasts, but there are too many commercials en they are too long ... When I pay for an app, I expect it to be commercial-free....
I subscribed because my favorite podcast offers as-free and exclusive content. I’m about to cancel because the app is declining. Playback did not work for a recent episode, and it’s currently struggling to download the latest exclusive content. I only subscribe for one podcast (New Heights), so subscribing doesn’t justify for one podcast.
I tried switching from Spotify to Wondery to listen to my favorite podcast (Armchair Expert). After a few episodes, I’m going back to Spotify. I was constantly fighting the play functionality. Podcast would not reliably start when I hit play. Such a basic thing. The UI is also not as clean as Spotify.
Wow - I just tried this app to listen to my daughter’s favorite podcasts and I can’t believe how hard it is to search, like, save, bookmark shows or episodes. I canceled my free trial 15 minutes after trying to use the app!
accidentally mash an unknown button…. F you. I hate this app. Once you, or the rain kicks you off your location, you’re f’d getting back. It’s like quickbooks and USPS had an unwanted bastard.
Love the pods but surprised at how clunky the interface is. Trying it out through an Amazon Prime offer. I have the latest version (1.78) BUT my “Stats” page is a brick. Can’t find or access playback history.
The content is great but the app itself is very elementary and unsophisticated. You can’t delete shows that are half listened to, you can’t control what you see on your feed, and it has virtually no app management options. For a paid app it’s very disappointing in this regard.
I hate this app. I only use it bc of one podcast that is only available here. App is buggy. Sometimes it stops playback if you open another app or if the lock screen comes on. Other times, it says I’m offline and I’m clearly not, but I can’t access podcasts. I can’t believe a company as prominent as Wondery allows this app on the market, it’s embarrassing. Will delete as soon as I can.
