It’s a great concept. But the response of auto-unlocking is very slow and sometimes doesn’t unlock. As for the Apple Watch app, it rarely works. I have to take my key with me when I leave my phone at home because there’s no guarantee that the watch app would work.

Great so far. But few simple things are annoying. Why can’t I just go to settings and tell the lock that the batter is changed? Or why when the message pops up in the email or in the phone it doesn’t take me to the issue which I can tick as resolved? What’s the point of the notification if nothing happens when you follow it? Why do I have to waste times trying to understand at which exact point should I catch that notification or how to trigger it so that I can finally explain the lock that the batter is changed? My wife sent email notifications to spam. So next time the battery will be drained we might miss the moment and get locked out. Next thing happens - we go and buy another lock.

Every day, it makes me sign in and enter a passcode it texts me despite never logging out. Really takes the convenience out of it.

After years of mostly seemless working, one of my locks started being unresponsive in HomeKit but not August app. I removed the accessory from HomeKit but current version of app crashes when trying to enable HomeKit for lock.

Dont buy unless the developer fix the widget

After iOS 18 they removed the widget to unlock from your Lock Screen. August just blames Apple on their website. Saying legacy widgets are not supported. You are a “smart” technology manufacturer. Write new code and update your “smart” technology!!! Pathetic. Can not recommend.

Can’t log in, can’t reset password, can’t get in touch with online on the phone and they keep asking how they’re doing (3x)! They’re terrible! Do not trust them with your security or anything. Bad tech all around.

iOS 18 was released almost 4 months ago, anybody still at August or is this a company just treading water?
