Degoo: Online Cloud Storage

This service is really great. The app would be really great, but only has one problem: it doesn't work.

Can’t login

I was given over 100GB for free with storage continuously being added in tiny MB increments for completing tasks. I had my app set to auto upload my camera roll so my account wouldn’t go inactive. There was not 1 day the app was inactive, I had pics to upload every single day. I got sick at the end of the year in 2022 when Degoo all of a sudden with little notice emailed that they were closing and deleting inactive accounts and any account past 5GB of storage would be deleted. I never saw this email and never got a notification from the app which I would’ve seen had there been one. At the beginning of 2023 I get an app error and wonder why my photos aren’t uploading through the app. I come to find out my account is gone and the 60+ GB of irreplaceable photos I haven’t been able to backup since my laptop broke are all gone. Photos from 3 pets that have passed that were all so special to me, family wedding photos, vacation photos from my favorite places, couple photos I was going to use to make a video collage, and other photos I can’t replace. I had just placed an order for a new laptop and flash drive to backup all of those pictures from Degoo. If they had just kept my account for 5 more days I would’ve been able to backup all of my irreplaceable photos and then I wouldn’t have cared if they deleted my entire account. I saw that they were still sending me weekly emails for photos I had uploaded that said “on this day,” and a photo from that day on a past year was shown. So they must still have all of my photos even if they’re not the original uploaded size. I emailed customer service and they told me no, my account was deleted so they couldn’t get any of my photos back. I asked them then why am I still getting emails about images I uploaded if my entire account is deleted? No answer, they just told me to pay for a new account. Really, screw you Degoo, why would I ever use your service again after what you did? Literally go with any other cloud service besides Degoo. I learned my lesson the hard way.

I can login but it stopped syncing data to cloud with server connectivity error. I understand sometimes things can go wrong but it is happening continuously for last few weeks.

No me sirvió. La descargué porque se veía bien estructurada. Pero cuando quise iniciar sesion ni con Apple o Google pude entrar . Le di crear cuenta y tampoco solo sale ocurrió un error así que no puedo calificarla bien.👍🏼

They mentioned one file violating their rules. I’m not sure why out of my pictures and documents. Everything i had saved is gone. Bad platform to download back your files upload stop unnecessarily downloading your files or photos once needed. Does not do bulk downloading. And they deleted my account I filed an appeal and they said we reviewed and still deleting your account could have deleted that file particular or given me a chance to tell to clarify or even tell me anything but without that they just deleted account everything i saved is gone!

Tried logging on to recover some old memories, and they’d deleted and locked down my account with no emails sent to me about it. Greeeatttt…..

I left my phone overnight to upload all my files, 9 hours later it’s only 11% completed. Got another service and in 3 hours all my files are on the cloud.

Degoo's cloud service has raised serious privacy concerns for me. Despite purchasing a lifetime account, I received emails threatening to expire my account if I didn't continuously log in. Additionally, the app runs in the background, attempting to upload all my media without consent. Most alarmingly, I discovered that Degoo's administrators have access to my files, raising fears of data exploitation. With so many red flags, I can't help but wonder if my data is being sold or misused, evoking concerns reminiscent of Chinese data handling practices.

I love the way Degoo reminds me of memories past. I cherish the reflections of time past.
