Everand: Ebooks and audiobooks

i used to get 2-3-4 solid books out of my subscription (audiobooks) now i tried everand and only got 1 book? yes you still have access to the library of other “less popular” books i don’t care about, these you can probably find for free on the internet. So you pay 12€ for a subscription get 1 book and in the end of the day there is not anything making it different or better than audible (who has a bigger selection ar least.)

I installed the app but I can’t use it because it says it needs to be updated but there is nothing to update in the app store…

Reply to the developer My scribd app on iPhone has been frozen - I am a premium user, has paid monthly fee for the usage - but upon contacting the customer service to fix my problem - it is more than a week - that my problem was still not solved. So if you satisfy with web usage - but not downloaded content and offline usage than go ahead otherwise - the promoted offline usage of downloads are only a tale. It works for a time but after they do not care. Even after updating - it is all the same. Scrap. I personally think that possibility to listen audiobooks offline via iwatch during sport activities like hiking or running would be perfect feature. Nowadays I have to wear phone if I want to listen audiobooks.

The app has everything you would like it to have. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that could be worked out better. For example, synchronization of last read location is a joke. It is unreliable. Sometimes it works but I find myself often looking for the last read text. Highlighting is a pain in the ***. The menu doesn't show up so I have to hold my finger on the text several times. You can highlight a text only on a showed page. If the text continues on the second page you need to use a workaround e.g. change a size of the text. There are tons of audio books that don't have their book counterpart. I would appreciate a possibility to go from reading to hearing and back. Also the progress of an audio book erases itself sometimes so you better remember where you were. Scribd developers, work a bit on that. I find Amazon app more stable overall though Scribd has some better functions.

I used to love everand. It had many great titles in an unlimited amount of listens per month. I was excited to hear they were going to be offering more titles from larger authors. I’d have happily paid a bit more monthly if they’d kept the unlimited titles per month for their entire catalog. Now only having 3 credits per month feels like they have just gotten greedy and are now charging way more for less. It feels like I’m paying for a slightly less expensive audible subscription. I’m really disappointed as this doesn't compare to audible where I own the digital file. This is the equivalent of a lease. I’m considering canceling my subscription as I feel cheated by this update out of the app and audiobook subscription service I originally subscribed to. Also I’m tired of the glitchiness and frequency of unavailable content when it comes towards the end of a billing cycle. It’s underhanded and poor business practice. Do better everand. Update: I got a response from the developer and I'm even more frustrated now. Since they don't even acknowledge that even with the three credits the app glitches and doesn't load properly. If your looking for an alternative in the US or other countries; Anyplay is great and has a similar selection but is only 11.99 through their website and is actually unlimited no credits. Or if your outside the US; Storytel is amazing and is similar with no credits and an unlimited catalog. I go through 3 books a week. It doesn't make sense for me to subscribe to Everand any more. I've officially canceled my subscription. I'll be back when they go back to an unlimited catalog with no credits.

The new plans are a way to scam you into buying books without giving you the books. Just go to Audible instead.

Unlock subscription model seems to be less content for more money. I’m three days past the date. I was supposed to get new locks a few days ago and they still haven’t renewed. So far radio silence from the developer on my service ticket.

I have subscribed to this app for a year, was told that if I upgrade it will let me unlock ‘premium’ titles. Since my subscription was through Apple I had to make an entirely new account. When I got in the new account I found out you had to unlock EVERYTHING. I have so many that are still ‘free’ on my other account but are now considered ‘premium’. Definitely will be canceling my subscription unless this is fixed. Truly not worth it.
