RideControl App

For me Giant is the most solid and well installed brand in the world of Bike and E-Bike. They should definitively work with the best app developper to provide an app that reach the same level of quality and efficacy than their bikes.

The app is pretty good and I use it to track all my rides. It is nice being able to go back and look at power utilization etc When it is connected to the phone, you get the current time on your ride display. One key problem that needs to be fixed. If you are on back country and try connect your phone to your Giant e-bike to track your ride or get the time on the display …. AND you have no internet connection, then the app decides you have to connect tp Giant and login. But you can’t, because you have no internet. If you ask me, The app should continue to work and connect using local credentials (and if they are worried about security, use face recognition) It shouldn’t brick the use of the app if no internet since there are other settings that can only be changed using the app For people who take their bike to different countries and don’t have internet by choice, it’s a pretty big problem. As it is a problem if you are at the top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere without cell service

Awesome eBike, Ap that does nothing. You would think an update or modification might be in order. Don’t let this Ap downplay your great product in eBikes.

Crash all the Time , open for Half a second and crash

It worked for me right from the start on a Momentum Voya 3+. I am only interested in mileage and battery level, although the map feature is decent. The only complaint would be that it really drains the iPhone battery, although as yet I am not sure if it is the app or my older phone that is the problem.

Very unfortunate that Giant hasn’t just collaborated with somebody who is good at building apps to compliment the rider experience. The app is useless for navigation, it’s a battery hog and really the only reason I might use it is to take advantage of recording the history on my bike. No pause, no shut screen off…. Don’t really understand why Giant wouldn’t team up with the makers of Ride with GPS to excel in this area…. Or have all this info downloadable from their basic controller. It seems to me that I should be able to initiate my preferred recording app as soon as I turn the bike on

I own 2 Giant e-bikes. When we want to connect the app to the bike, we have to perform any controller update prior to use it. On my Quick E+ it took 5 times before updating successfully. But on my wife’s Amiti E+, the app stated 100% update success, then the controller has to shut off and reboot, but it has never rebooted. No power. No lights. Nothing. The update killed the controller (RideControl Ergo). Now i have to spend 110$+taxes to get my wife’s to life.
