ArriveCAN still contains Advance CBSA Declaration, which allows you to answer customs and immigration questions up to 72 hours in advance of flying into Canada. It is currently available to international air travellers who enter Canada at selected airports.
By submitting your customs and immigration information in advance, you will spend less time at a primary inspection kiosk (PIK) or eGate when you arrive at the airport. This contributes to shorter line-ups in arrivals halls.
At the border, you will be prompted to scan your travel document at a primary inspection device and confirm your identity. Once your identity has been confirmed, your Advance CBSA Declaration will be retrieved from ArriveCAN for you to review and certify. If changes are required, you can edit and update your declaration prior to certification.
Use of the Advance CBSA Declaration feature of ArriveCAN is entirely optional.

CBSA declaration
We used AriveCAN last year and it worked fine. Now it wants a CBSA declaration but we are driving across the border. Will not let me bypass this declaration to add our trip. Not sure if we no longer need AriveCAN or how to continue.
New problem
Worked seamlessly for car trips twice in 2022 summer. Wanted to check if I remembered what to do for a car trip next month and cannot get beyond the CBSA declaration page for air travelers. I’m stuck: don’t have an airport to report since we’re traveling by car, and can’t find a way to get past this point.
Wrote 2 requests for help last weekend-just one auto generated reply saying they’d contact me if they need more info….5 days later, still no help.
What should I do? I have the latest version of the app.
No clear steps for permanent residents
There is no clear option to declare permanent residency as status.
Useless for cruise passengers or land entry
It no longer supports land or marine entry, so it’s pretty useless for the millions entering Canada that way. And it only works for a handful of airports now, so even more useless.
From the app:
Please note: Advance CBSA Declaration is only available for air entry at select airports.
Easy form completion
App worked great
Optional
Now better that it’s optional. Not so focussed on Covid related questions. Saves time to answer questions online.
Easy navigation
I found it very easy to use the arrive Canada app. Very intuitive and it didn’t take very long to provide all the answers. I love this tool!
Doesn’t like certain email addresses
If you have an email address, ending in .info domain, the app won’t let you complete your form.
Wow! This makes this so much easier!
Absolutely love this tool and will not travel to Canada without it.
Buggy App
It wouldn’t accept the password. It previously accepted before. Changed to new password and it still gave an error message. Then it magically logged me in even with error message still displaying. Buggy!
