Atoms Reviews

Motivator

This app is amazing. It is easy to use and give me motivation to complete my task

So far so good

On the progress tab, the reflection tiles don’t show that I have already logged a reflection for the day

Tremendous fan of the book, not worth it

Nilsipilzi on

I’m a huge fan of James clears work and has had an incredibly positive impact on my life. However, I cannot in good conscience. Recommend this app in its current state. at $70 a year it is too lacking in features relative to its cheaper competitors available in the App Store.

Still way too expensive

EyeSeeEwe on

United States

I really appreciate that there was a price drop from the insanely high original price. But $70 a year still seems over priced. Like everyone else, I’m a big fan of the book, and hoped for a great supplemental app. I just can’t justify paying that much

Horrible UI

N7ndez on

United States

I love the book but this app has terrible UI. It’s downright confusing. I can’t even figure out how to unlog a day. I was trying to log a habit for yesterday and accidentally logged it for today(again, the UI is confusing), now there seems to be no way to remove it. Glad I never paid for this garbage app.

Bait and Switch Paywall

D. Mose on

United States

The app launched free with a limited set of core features, with minimal prompts to “upgrade” and few paywalls. A respectable start, and one I’d considered paying for. Yet after a few months, the app has now restricted free users to a singular habit. In fact, habits I’ve been tracking previously for free are now locked behind a paywall. The core vision of the app is to enable visibility and encourage steady, regular behavioral changes. Not sure why James or his team would aggressively counteract the goal and restrict core functionality of this app except to drive greater profit. It’s frankly embarrassing - the free version would better be renamed to “Atom,” since you’re only supported for one change at a time.

Great, Eager to experience more

Excellent supplementary resource Consider adding features for customization (i.e. changing the color of the habits and the app)

Too expensive

Lauracs73 on

United States

This app is priced WAY too high. I loved the experience I got during the free trial and would not mind paying a smaller fee for this app — but not $69.99 a year. That is completely outrageous for a habit tracking app. I’ve been waiting for an Atomic Habits app for years and am frankly very upset by how expensive this is. The free version is not nearly robust enough for my needs. I will be switching to a more affordable app. Very disappointed in the Atomic Habits team for not making a more affordable app solution for us. :(

Atoms App is like hitting the “easy” button.

It works!

Pretty, but limited and expensive

Salierima on

United States

After reading the book and finding it extremely helpful, I suppose my expectations for the app were too high. But yes… it’s objectively limited, expensive and doesn’t even truly matches the objective of the book. At some level if feels like the author is monetizing on his fame… good old capitalism, I guess. So it’s expensive. VERY expensive. My mobile plan in Europe is cheaper than this app. Even Netflix is. And I don’t mind paying for something that’s worth it, but this app sure isn’t. Take for example the habits you can track. Six! Yes… S.I.X. You want to cultivate a different habit each weekday? Nope…. You’ll be missing one day. The habit tracker template on JC website has almost 20 habits. And it’s free! Moreover, the way habits are formulated are limited and incongruous with the book. They have to follow a format of “I’ll do X at Y, to become Z”. No Habit Stacking, no breaking a habit, no other cue managing, no nothing. You get that format and that’s all. Besides that, the other functionalities, like the quotes and the community, feel so lacking and underdeveloped that I might be better off by asking a chatbot to motivate me. Yes, it’s pretty and it welcomes you with shiny animations but how this app has a 4.8 stars review just baffles me. Go to Reddit and read the reviews, they’re as critical as mine, if not worse.
