Atoms Reviews

Good app ruined by greed

Ledo392919 on

Japan

In no way is this app worth $16.99 a month. The free version only lets you set and track one habit. If you want to track more than one habit you have to buy the subscription. The paid version also has curated articles that are nice, but I’d recommend to save your money and just read Atomic Habits again. I’m big fan of James Clear so I was excited for this app, but honestly it seems like just a cash grab capitalizing on his fame in the productivity space. Pretty disappointing and changed my view of James.

The rolling out of this app is as productive as the people behind it

nlofir9502 on

I received the invitation to join the beta testing but it turned out that it had already reached the capacity. While I was thinking that this was going to be a long wait, just as many "productive" apps in beta out there which keep you on a waiting list for months or even years, the email I received 2 weeks later was the one that told me the official release was ready :)

Simply Atomic

Hitori dake on

Japan

Simple to use with a very easy guide to understand how to set goals in a entertaining and educational way

Great Techniques

Tricking the Mind on

Japan

Great tips to remind you to stay on track and to keep it easy. In a sense, to trick your subconscious mind into doing what is actually best to keep you healthy, creative and to drive your to achieve. With the added benefit of proven techniques that motivate you on a daily basis. Many Thanks.

This app is amazing. It is easy to use and give me motivation to complete my task

So far so good

On the progress tab, the reflection tiles don’t show that I have already logged a reflection for the day

Tremendous fan of the book, not worth it

Nilsipilzi on

United States

I’m a huge fan of James clears work and has had an incredibly positive impact on my life. However, I cannot in good conscience. Recommend this app in its current state. at $70 a year it is too lacking in features relative to its cheaper competitors available in the App Store.

Still way too expensive

EyeSeeEwe on

United States

I really appreciate that there was a price drop from the insanely high original price. But $70 a year still seems over priced. Like everyone else, I’m a big fan of the book, and hoped for a great supplemental app. I just can’t justify paying that much

Horrible UI

N7ndez on

United States

I love the book but this app has terrible UI. It’s downright confusing. I can’t even figure out how to unlog a day. I was trying to log a habit for yesterday and accidentally logged it for today(again, the UI is confusing), now there seems to be no way to remove it. Glad I never paid for this garbage app.

Bait and Switch Paywall

D. Mose on

United States

The app launched free with a limited set of core features, with minimal prompts to “upgrade” and few paywalls. A respectable start, and one I’d considered paying for. Yet after a few months, the app has now restricted free users to a singular habit. In fact, habits I’ve been tracking previously for free are now locked behind a paywall. The core vision of the app is to enable visibility and encourage steady, regular behavioral changes. Not sure why James or his team would aggressively counteract the goal and restrict core functionality of this app except to drive greater profit. It’s frankly embarrassing - the free version would better be renamed to “Atom,” since you’re only supported for one change at a time.
