The best in classical music

Sophie Schwab on

Exquisit selection of classical music. More and more podcasts and radio programmes available for listening from abroad - greatly appreciated!

I use different radio apps from different countries - NOTHING beats the BBC Sounds app! Nothing!!

User Unfriendly

Listen from Nederland on

Netherlands

I find Sounds very difficult to navigate. If I manage find what I’m looking for, I can’t seem to rewind to something I missed. I have no idea how to delete a programme I don’t like so it keeps popping up when I look for something new. There are more issues and I know that my friends, I’m in my 60s and listen to a lot of radio, find exactly the same

Congratulations for all those busy creating this app. A long waiting solution for listening from abroad, since BBC LW, and MW were interrupted in The Netherlands; now, with even more options available, that was not possible years back.

No info about the episode

Hungry in Holland on

Netherlands

I like being reminded of the performers in the episode. There's no extra info apart from the name of the program.

Just the best library of sounds

CD265 on

Netherlands

When your eyes are tired from working on screen all day, the last thing you want is do is to stare at another. Why not delve into the archive of the BBC. Whether it be crime drama, a seventies rock show or a timeless comedy like Yes Minister or After Henry one is taken back with ones eyes rested. But it is not only nostalgia, there is a freshness to the offering too. Young and new playwrights are aired, new podcasts and curated music add to the mix. Long live the BBC and remember the license fee is worth every penny.

No alarm clock function

Michiel071 on

Netherlands

The BBC Sounds app doesn’t have the alarm clock function the BBC Radio app had. To listen and switch there are too many clicks. Is stable and works well.

BBC Sounds review

Sally Eloise on

United Kingdom

I use bbc sounds mainly for the daily service and Sunday Worship . Please pass on my gratitude to the daily service team especially. I felt disappointed that it was moved from its place on Radio 4, after so many years, onto Radio 4 Extra. It seemed and felt like it had been sidelined, demoted even onto a station that replays old programs as though it was not considered very important any more. I believe it is the oldest running radio program in the world. Surely, it should have very high priority… However, I am pleased that we still can be encouraged through the readings, worship and reflections on God’s Word -to bring the peace that only He can give - over the airwaves in our United Kingdom 6 days each week throughout every year. Praise God and Thank you bbc sounds.

I can’t find how to rewind or fast forward

I’m new to music on

United Kingdom

On iPad , I might want to rewind, but I cannot see the option . I was listening to the Dickens ghost story the mystery of Edwin Drood. I love the radio “dial” very effective
