Bose SoundTouch Reviews

ANNOYING

JenE1971 on

I’m frustrated with this app. I rarely use it and when I do, I always regret what a waste of time it is. Bose has a good sound player but the app needs SO MUCH IMPROVEMENT. Back to my Alexa devices. The sound is not that worse.

Good hardware, terrible software

rockymountainhigh5 on

Title pretty much sums it up. Bose hardware is good. Software is a frustrating exercise of your patience. Updates are frequent, and take forever, but seem to do nothing. Speaker constantly gets lost, reconnecting is much more annoying than any other WiFi enabled device I’ve ever used. You’d be better off ditching this dumpster fire of an app and using Bluetooth instead, which is what I will be doing moving forward.

Still searching

I am so disappointed with this product. It disconnects all the time, one speaker drops while another continues to play. Then I have to figure out if I should reconnect the speaker or keep opening and closing the app in the hope it finds the missing speaker. Bose, you dropped the ball with this one. I have Bose speakers throughout my house, but I think my next purchase will be Sonos or another brand that actually works.

It wasn’t very good at controlling the speaker after the last update and if anything, it’s slightly worse now. My biggest complaint is that the speaker plays FM radio stations, but as far as I can tell, the app doesn’t let you tune the radio. Also, I don’t think you can control the tuner without the remote. So what’s the point of the app?

Speakers constantly fall out of group and now SoundTouch only plays one song and quits

For the $$$ and name, this is a terrible experience.

My Bose soundtouch 300 no connect

Soul-24 on

My soundtouch 300 won't connect to the app, even though my bluetooth detects it. I've repeated these steps over and over again with no success. I follow the steps in the app, select the device, press the musical note symbol on the remote and the number 9 and nothing! What a way to complicate things BOSE.

Broken on iOS 18 (iPadOS 18)

KalakLanar on

Everything was working great on my iPad, until I upgraded to iPadOS 18. Now it won't see the Wave Music System IV at all, even if I put it into setup mode. It's the same problem with my wife's iPhone. The Android version was updated a year ago, but the iOS version seems dead with a last update 3 years ago. So much for buying a new Bose Theater system.

iOS 18 has broken this app

The app support page is no longer up and there’s no way to report the issue. We need this app to add our SoundTouch speakers to new network. I know this is an older platform but please update.
