Great app so far, but no colors
It does everything I need a calendar app to do, except sync the colors of specific events between the macOS app and iOS app.

I wanted an easy way to add events to my Google calendar using natural language (rather than using a dozen taps to say the date and time etc) and BusyCal does that brilliantly. I love that it's only a one time payment rather than a subscription, too. When I first downloaded it, I couldn't connect to my Google calendar, and I wrote to BusyCal support. The developer was extremely responsive, and helped me over a few days to figure out the issue. (It was that I had only entered my Google username and not my full email address!) Highly recommended!
I got BusyCal because it could search all past synced events. Until recently, Apple’s built-in iOS Calendar app would only show items from the last year in search results. Apple finally fixed that within the last few years. (Seriously, Apple… what took you so long?!) But BusyCal has many other cool features: • I like viewing the whole month at a time with my events in place in their colour coding. • Nice enhancement like phases of the moon • Multitude of customization choices (font sizes etc.) • Viewing Reminder events right on the calendar. (While I mainly interact with tasks in Apple’s built-in Reminders app, BusyCal doesn’t get in the way of this.) Where BusyCal falls down is in the inputting of events. It tries to be “smart” and fails miserably. For example, say I want to record my successful golfing outing. I can’t just enter “Hole in one!” without it becoming an ordeal. BusyCal underlines the word “in” to signify that whatever I enter next is going into the location field. Thus, I end up with an event with title “Hole” and location “One”. Duhhhh. It’s infuriating because once it underlines “in” there’s no way to prevent it other than to finish inputting, then go back and correct it. Likewise, I often find that BusyCal unexpectedly shifts start times if I adjust end times (or vice versa). The Mac version does this, too, but it’s easier to correct than on iPhone. I wish there was a way to turn off this not-so-smart input mode. I didn’t see a “Don’t Assume” mode in settings. When I’m on iPhone, I often find myself inputting events in Apple’s Calendar rather than fight with BusyCal. But for VIEWING calendars, BusyCal is superior. I was just about to take away another star because of another recent input bug in BusyCal: the on-screen keyboard obstructed the Notes field. I’m happy to report that they’ve just now fixed this ( version 4.6.2 as of this writing). So, it’s a plus that the developer is responsive.
I really like this app in general but can you add a feature that allow recurrent tasks to skip the days they were not completed for, instead of having to check them off multiple times to get it to rollover to the next day, please consider this thanks
Calendars, To Dos, Reminders, Alarms all wrapped into one intuitive, well thought out and functional app. I love it and rely on it.
I’m a longtime user of BusyCal, and before that, Now Up-to-Date on my desktop. I was aware of the BusyCal app for the iPhone and iPad, but figured I was okay with what Apple provides. I took advantage of the Busy App sale and downloaded it during the Black Friday event, and I love it. I find it much easier than what Apple gives us, and I wish I had made this addition to my iPhone earlier. Once again, Busy Apps have outdone themselves!
I’ve tried numerous calendars and had been using Fantastical for the last couple of years. But this Calendar has every feature I’ve ever wanted - from having options of having the month written next to every date (a simple feature, but now I can never mess up), a great month view, and buttons where I can reach them. I’ve just got the Mac app as well, and that is equally brilliant. One thing I’d like to have - a few more App Icon options to fit it with my homescreen design better :)
The app is great and has tremendously improved through all its updates. I was so happy to see it come to the Apple Watch. The app and its complications are really well made. Unfortunately, I discovered that the app on Apple Watch is in English only while I have all my devices setup to use French. I will gladly add the missing star when this is all fixed.
I have busycal on my computer I pay a ridiculous amount of money for it. Tried to get it for my iPad and made me pay again I did but I CANT sync my calendar from my computer to my iPad. I wasted my money on an app that I already pay for and it won’t even work for what I need. I want my money back for the iPad purchase. I would give zero stars if I could.
This app is the best! Smart design Reliable Everything you can ask for
