The Citi Bike app also shows upcoming public transit departures, including MTA subway trains, shuttles, local, limited, & express buses, LIRR commuter rail trains, Metro-North commuter rail trains, PATH rapid transit trains, Bee-Line local & express buses, NYC Ferries, the Staten Island Ferry, the AirTrain JFK, the AirTrain Newark, the Roosevelt Island Tramway, and NJT commuter rail trains, light rail trains, & buses.

I don’t understand why the cost is not capped. We had the bike for 2hrs plus and it ended up costing more than a day pass. In my opinion this is very unethical behaviour by this company. most transport companies would automatically cap your cost at the cost of a day pass.
If you don’t have a us phone number don’t bother
Can’t get a bike without a us phone number as can’t access uk phone numbers here.

Completely useless if you do not have a US phone number.
I have travelled to many countries across the globe and never had an issue using an app to rent a bike!
Very short sighted for a company but it does explain why there are racks full of bikes not being used by anyone.
Does not support UK phone number
Terrible experience. My UK phone number could not receive the verification code. Unbelievable that am international city like NY, does not support international phone numbers
NO SUITABLE FOR TOURIST
It only accepts USA debit cards, so is pointless if you a tourist, I wouldn’t even download the app.

Onboarding Broken
I am a UK tourist in NYC looking for an easy way to rent a bike. Sadly I am unable to get past the second onboarding screen with “Scan to unlock” and “next up, let’s confirm some details”. Hopefully I can rent a bike easily enough from the location.

Really rude ‘customer services manager’. Thinks it’s ok to use bold highlight to patronise people who email with an overcharging issue. Disgustingly rude person.
