Useless

It doesn’t play my videos

Can’t adjust playback speed???!!!

Strange enough that playback speed adjustment is available via web browser access to Video Station but NOT this APP!!!

Broken on tvOS 17

For the most part, this app does the job. But, on tvOS 17 there’s an issue. Sometimes, pausing videos is broken. When a video is paused, it cannot be played again without coming complete out of the video, and restarting it again. On top of this, the app NEEDS to be updated for the new remote. Especially, the function of being able to rest on the dial, and slowly scrub videos. Please work on this app asap. It’s frustrating when watching things daily.

Only limited format supported

Strangely, the formats that not supported by this app could be opened by DS File, which supposed only to be the file manager, and did a lot better than this app designed for video playback…

Thumbnails

Why doesn't this app read thumbnails added to the mp4 and mkv container? It could at least read thumbnails from the view (e.g. frames of the video), but instead it forces the user to ask for an API to download thumbnails from some website's database. It would be better if it gave the option to add them manually.

Great piece of software

A great piece of software works really well , just one floor at the moment when you share a video the recipient clicks the link but some videos say NOT SUPPORTED yet they work in every other way, they just don’t work through Synology quick connect. Otherwise a great program.

Needs updating

I use this app a lot. On my fire tv sticks, cubes and apple devices as my videos are on my Synology. Really could do with an update / refresh as it’s been 2 years since the last one. Seems it’s been forgotten. Better buffering support required on home and public networks, really needs to support more file types before giving up and asking you to play with another video app like VLC. OST importantly it needs to support x265, which is jerky as hell and unwatchable. Believe the x265 issue is due to the browser it runs in.really really needs updating.

No skip/back functionality?

Just installed on my Apple TV 4K, can’t for the life of me work out how to skip forward/backwards in videos? I would’ve thought that’s a pretty standard functionality for a video player ☹️

Meta Data Nightmare

Probably the worst program at organising meta data out there. It gets so much wrong so expect many hours manually correcting it yourself.
