Missing Picture-In-Picture functionality, which is a huge bummer as that has been a standard feature on video content viewers for a long time, by tech standards. Synology DEV team, pleeeeeease update!

I like this player because it is simple, lightweight, and works well with my Diskstation video library. It also provides an easy way to download videos so I can view on an airplane. However, downloaded videos does not show the nice poster/tile view as folders on my DS server. Developers: please show nice poster view for downloaded videos.

Trying to play any video returns an ‘Unable to play video’ error. Then the whole app breaks.

Ridiculous that after all these years, this app doesn’t support picture-in-picture on iPad, or any kind of background playback whatsoever. These features have been supported in iOS for a LONG TIME, and everybody else has them. As far as I’m concerned, that basically makes it useless.

The app is fairly attractive and plays videos OK on tvOS 17 but it has major bugs. Pause doesn’t stop playback but does mute the sound with no way to get it back without exiting the video and starting again. On iOS 17 with an iPhone 14 it won’t play a video at all, no matter the video format. You can select a video but it stays stuck on a “loading…” dialog forever.

This could be really good, but I just don’t think Synology puts any attention toward it. It does the minimum to play videos, but it’s very slow to be updated. For instance, the app on Apple TV doesn’t work properly after TV OS 17 update. This was noticed during the TV OS 17 beta and reported, but the app still wasn’t updated prior to launch, and has been broken now for weeks with no timeline in sight for a fix.

Could you please fix app for Apple TV? I can’t pause video on tvOS 17. Please fix it :)

When will this app support AirPlay 2? There is no audio on Apple TV unless it is directly connected to a speaker via HDMI or using tv speakers. I use HomePod mini’s for my Apple TV audio and I’m assuming many others use AirPlay enabled speakers for their audio.

Just wanting to know if we could get an auto play next episode function when watching TV shows through ds video? Specifically if your watching on a Samsung TV and you get to the end it won’t just auto play next which is inconvenient having to select play next every time especially when you just want background noise. When your accessing your nas through web browser and go through video station it plays next idk why this can’t.
