Side Car is free but Duet Air goes one better - it extends the Mac Desktop in Portrait View. I use my iPad to view music scores with a number of apps but they are all useless in landscape, the image is way too small. But with Duet Air I can finally see my music scores in Portrait. This is in addition to the many features Duet Air offers. Highly recommended
Works well
So after a year of having Duet Air I have been notified that my subscription will auto renew and that if I want to cancel I must do so within a certain time limit. As I have not used the program for over 6 months I clicked the link in the email which turned out to be a dead link, I then logged into my Duet account which in turn had no option to cancel my subscription. It turns out that to cancel your subscription you need to enter your settings on your apple device and click your profile then subscriptions. This would be awkward and difficult if I no longer had an Apple Device, nobody should be made to jump through hoops to stop money being taken from their account. Thankfully after a fair while of working out how to do it I finally cancelled so apologies for the snotty emails but seriously, add an option either in the website account management or in the app itself to make things easier for your customers. You can pay me later for the advice when you find that you get less one star reviews. I have updated my star rating since my initial review.
Spent hours , simply don’t work
I recently spend £32 on this app by subscription. For some reason it doesn’t work and the troubleshooting advice I have been given does not tally. It has also affected the wired connection and seems not work if the Wi-Fi is not strong. I wouldn’t purchase this again. And am awaiting refund on my subscription.
Complete rubbish
I use this with a teleprompter. From what I know, this is the only app that can extend your monitors in a flipped resolution. And that is why I pay for it. But it’s fiddly to connect. I seem to have to do a dance of plugging in and unplugging to get it going. Screen sharing is a joke though. That basically never works. Which seems to be the major selling point of this version. Updates are few and far between, so the subscription model doesn’t really make sense. But here we are. Teleprompter mode keeps me paying.
The sign up screen bunches up on iPhone SE (1st Ed) and you can’t tap the ‘Sign Up’ button.
Wasted my time, they should put that it’s not a free app to use at first. It is paid app.
