Annoying ads and can’t turn Eco+ off
I just got two Ecobee Lites and am thinking of returning them because of the app. There’s annoying ads on the home screen so that alone is really bad, but it also has an error every time I try to turn Eco+ off. Also it takes too long to get to things that you need and they waste precious space on the home screen with a button that says “Discover” which is literally just to buy more of their products. That should not be on the home screen! Since the app is really important to me I think I picked the wrong thermostat system.
Schedule needs a redesign
Setting the schedule is pretty frustrating. It needs to be redesigned so that I can set the schedule for each day without other days being affected if I’m not copying the schedule over. I like the thermostat to come on around 12:30 AM or 1 AM for sleep. Anytime I set the sleep schedule for particular day, the next day’s schedule is ruined once I add the Home time for the same day. Being able to add a start and end time for each comfort setting per day would be a great help.

Too Many Layers
While this app is functionally sound, the entire layout of it is confusing and over convoluted. For example, why are there two layers to the template screen to get to settings and different temperature profiles? Furthermore, in my houses layout, the follow me feature doesn’t work the best. However, if you disable follow me, the sensor function disappears from the Apple home app, which means you can’t use it for automations.
Eco+ feature issues
So the eco+ feature won’t turn off even though it’s turned off in the thermostat the all still thinks it’s on so I can’t control my thermostat through the app at all.. when I try to turn eco+ off in the app it flashes a red error at the bottom and that’s that.. I’ve reset everything and done all I can.. the support for this company is terrible you can’t talk to anyone that I’ve found just a bunch of manuals and what not that you can read through for different “issues” but if it’s not listed good luck.. wishing I would a gotten a neat right now

Have had this Ecobee thermostat for just under a week. Easy to understand, and easy to use.

So many reviews have nothing to do with app..the app works…my only issue is it should be able to show everything you see when you log onto a pc such as system run time….lets be real people want everything in the app and not have to use a pc to see everything.
Great app over all
It’s a great app and very intuitive after playing with it and looks very nice. My only thing is when zooming in and out on the security camera, it goes extremely slow
Can’t change notification sound
Hello Most apps allow a custom notification to be selected for that app which allows for easy audible identification. An ecobee app upgrade is needed, it is not possible to change the sound of the ecobee notification on the iPhone. When a notification is received , say a door or window is opened, the notification sound given is the same as a notification from Reddit or other apps and you can’t tell that it’s from ecobee or that a door or window has opened audibly. Please fix it. Thanks Brian
