What happened to ChromeCast?!

mrTRP on

Up until about a month ago, app has been 5 stars all day ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unfortunately ChromeCast seems to have stopped working approx 1 month ago. ChromeCast still works off my phone (iPhone 12, latest iOS) using apps like YouTube… But doesn’t work for Emby any more on any ChromeCast I’ve tried.

Best thing since sliced bread.

I have been following Emby since it was an overlay to Microsoft media center. It has just got better and better as the years have rolled on. I use it to play tv series movies documentaries and music off my server at home. From any where in the world. Just amazing. Plex what a waste of time. Buggy and you can’t even install it on a 64 bit machine. Pic. Keep up the terrific work guys. Well done.

I wasted my money on this!

Like many of the reviewers before me I constantly experienced black screens and content not playing or loading. Regrettable I paid to unlock the ability to simply play content before I read the other reviews, don’t make the same mistake. Get Plex, it works! This app is rubbish!

Utter rubbish!

Fails to load very often. Family Share is worthless! You have to buy an in-app purchase to actually use it and this can not be shared!

Mostly broken, bait and switch InApp purchase

So here's how you can make it work, when it fails to start, and it will, frequently, swipe close it and try again. When you attempt to play anything at all, you're required to purchase the in app subscription. It is quite literally useless without it. Given that I could not get any video to play at all, and the forums keep referring users to their beta program (which is invite only obviously) it's pretty rich to demand money before providing even basic functionality. Whilst there theoretically is a HTML 5 WebApp version, it obviously doesn't work for iOS, because they'd prefer you to use their paid app. Have uninstalled and glad I paid nothing.

Unable to play files in ISO format. 2.The film scraping speed is slow and often cannot be scraped correctly. 3. The official genuine Emby installed on fnOS cannot select the local folder when creating a new media library. I spent $119 to buy Emby Premiere. Please solve these problems for me ASAP !

播放器控件分布不合理

1.控件自动隐藏的情况下点击屏幕,应该是使控件显现出来而不是暂停播放。 2.控件放在屏幕中间单手极难操作。

Way better than Plex

Nickname4menow on

Much much faster and feature stable vs using Plex. Just does what it does well. The developer isn’t constantly trying to force C-grade streaming movies on you. Support small developers.

VisionOS Support Needed

So far the app has been OK. VisionOS support is needed for full experience on Vision Pro.
