Fiery Feeds Reviews

Pretty much the best

Look, for a normal person, or power user, Fiery is your go-to. I have a couple of feed accounts like Feedly piped into Fiery, but also I'm using it as a reading list, and I have the iCloud RSS sync set up to add feeds such as Tumblr. Why? Article Extraction, and being able to use colours, fonts and sizes that suit me while still having an option to open the original website and have it all synced between devices.

Purchased before shift to subscription..

EViL_Wonda on

Disappointed in the developers approach - I purchased a perpetual licence in 2022, i.e. shortly after they changed to a subscription model. The result being, I'm unable to get update or re-download the version that I own a license for. I've tried contacting the developer, but had no response so far. The software is flexible, but part of selling the software, is providing the support for existing customers.. Switching the licensing to subscription does not mean there is no commitment to those who purchased prior to the change.

Works perfectly

Allows downloading automatically for offline reading and does a pretty good job getting the full article text/image. Excellent UI.

Great app!

Still a few bugs I'd like fixed (I asked!). Hope those will get done soon

Not very good

TechnoWomble on

Initially, it was very good. Experience over time is pretty bad though. Doesn’t do a good job of cleaning up unread items. Gets so full eventually it just crashes. Can’t even use it. Overpriced. Reeder has all the same features for about half the price of the yearly subscription to this app. They don’t seem to be innovating at all. It’s at cash grab phase of the app lifetime. Why am I paying you a subscription for you not adding new features? The app constantly comes unlicensed from Pro and I have to find the fairly hidden button to re-license. Dishonest cash grab. Switched to Reeder and managed official Miniflux for a better experience with more features.

Too many crashes with a large database

Given this is hailed as the premiere feed reader, I thought I'd try it. My Pocket library has tens of thousands of articles at this point, but I can't scroll even 2 years back using Fiery Feeds without it crashing (iphone 13 pro!). The interface is nice and customisable but this isn't very robust. There are other apps which can hold my entire database without issue. If this is fixed I'd love to come back to it.

A happy subscriber

The best iOS app for RSS with an awesome selection of customisation options. (I prefer a competitor on the Mac platform but Fiery Feeds is a close second.)

Still my go to after 5+ years

RobF 1967 on

I’ve checked out others but this feed reader is the best for me - been using on iPhone for many years with annual subscription in conjunction with Feedbin - I average more than an hour a day reading. Lots of customisation options - I’m borderline-dyslexic, so getting font and text size right is really helps my read speed.

My review has been removed.!!???

Bennlloyd on

United Kingdom

My 2 reviews have been removed which is definitely not nice to do as that doesn’t give others a fair and honest choice of buy or not too buy. Come on developer that’s not good. Since updating my iPhones and iPad to iOS 14.3 the app crashes back to springboard constantly upon opening making it unusable for purpose. I’ve said this in previous 2 reviews, which have been removed??? I’ve now got an app which I paid for sub and it doesn’t open anymore. I was going to email dev support about this and hopefully work out why. I received an email from developer after my reviews about contacting support as he said this has happened to quite a few others and they are not sure why. I was going to email but I wanted to update my reviews here but now they’ve been removed too. Not nice at all. I love this app as it’s my go to , with Reeder, for news rss etc but after this I shall definitely be informing apple. Myself as a developer I’ve never deleted users reviews or opinions as they are what inform us and help us develop better or easier things...

Simply the best RSS Reader available!

Stukeyme on

I use Fiery Feeds with Feedbin. It’s the best iOS RSS app available, IMHO. It’s so customisable, there are many feed/article view styles to choose from, custom themes, full text extractor service integration, custom actions, etc. The app is regularly updated to add new features and support new iOS functionality. Love the new auto theme change and return after mark as read features in v2.1 and account and sync settings in v2.2! Amazing! Responsive and friendly support from the developer. Well worth the Premium upgrade for my most used app across iPhone and iPad. Highly recommended +++
