It’s started with the fact that u signed up for 3 month, but that’s actually a continued subscription that you must cancel within that time otherwise it automatically renews. I find that sneaky and greedy. Further the app does not stood to notify (annoy) you with pop-ups to sign up and join other stuff. While I like the general service, the workouts and usability the approach to deliver it feels pushy and desperate.
In reality the app is four stars… I set it to three because I’d like the devs to check this… but the last iteration “repaints” the last screen after finishing a drill… it is hard to explain but the behaviour is annoying. Other wishes: 1. Import weight data from Health app. 2. Batch download option for videos. 3. Video playback on Apple Watch (subject to technical feasibility).
It keeps refreshing and loading the screen whenever I return to the training session screen. Very annoying!
Amazing workouts, great app, super fun with gamification and community, don’t have to think about training plan or splits. Just open the app and start workout 👍
At 48 years old, this app has helped me do something I never managed before. Minus one star for taking away the Apple Watch integration, but I still went ahead and purchased a lifetime subscription because it suits me so well and I have faith that they will correct this problem I’m the near future.
It’s far too expensive to get good usage out of. Fake/paid for 5 star reviews, like 90% of other popular apps, scammy and fake progression photos (always the same tricks from every fitness ”instructor” and apps, poor lighting vs good lighting, poor posture vs good posture, not same person but close to identical person, etc - just stop, it’s laughable how unprofessional it is and just shows you can’t get good progression photos from actual users). If you can’t get good progression photos from your users, or show your users the truth, your programs and your apps are just a sham and you know it, issue is that people are dumb and don’t realise it until they’ve spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars without any notable progress. Stop scamming and be professional instead, if you know how, or hire someone who knows how to be truthful as you seem to be incapable.
Good exercises and videos showing how to do them. Statistics and tracking is terrible. For example they training programs or so called journeys. The only stats on these is how many sessions you have completed. You cant see any stats on for example how many times you have exercised, what days apart from a week or so back, you can see number of workouts but a session can comprise of several workouts so it doesnt really give you a good sense of how many times you have worked out. They have a points system - good idea - but you have no idea really what the points mean and what different levels there are and so on - you only know how many points are left till next level. Very confusing user interface as well but its nice when you are in a specific exercise. Wouldnt recommend the app if you are setting some sort of goal and want to track your progress.
I’ve been using this for a year. It’s definitely been positive in giving my gym workouts a structure. It’s helped me get stronger and fitter, and that’s a big thing. But there are a couple downsides… which seem very avoidable, and so are annoying. 1 What’s with the “followers” thing? That should be killed. 2 When I start a new program, why should I have to answer questions (which I can’t remember the answers to) about my recent past exercise? I use this app partly so that it can keep track of this, and I don’t have to! Weird. 3 Everyone’s body is different. Sometimes the app tells me to do something… and I can’t do it. Or it’s so awful that I just don’t want to. Why do they make it so hard to ask for something else? There are many different exercises, and it should be easier just to say: “Thanks, but that thing isn’t for me. Please give me another option.” Overall, though, this app has been good.
The Apple Watch integration is no more and it leaves a really bad taste in everyone’s mouth. What a shame. First we lost run tracking, now the watch integration. It certainly looks like Freeletics is working backwards.
