Google home and Google near - a waste of money?
I have a Google Nest doorbell and two Google home cameras. I wish I had never bought them. Firstly, having bought the doorbell I found that all the wiring instructions are really directed at the US. I had to get an electrician in to wire it up and he had to have two visits and much research before he could sort it. Then I bought the cameras but they insisted that they should piggy back on the doorbells link to our WiFi and then failed to link. Eventually I had to set up an entirely new account for the cameras. This means I am paying twice for one account with Google home. Next there’s response time. I tested this only today accessing my cameras and responding to the doorbell using 5G from Austria. By the time the spinning wheel of death has done its thing, the caller had walked down the drive and got into his car. There is no point in buying these expensive and useless cameras.
