Yes, your banking is done via a secured connection. No personal details are stored on your phone or tablet. If you always use the latest version of the app, you enjoy optimal security and the latest features.
Activation only takes a moment
You don’t need much to activate the app. Just a Dutch current account at ING, access to My ING and a valid identity document. This can be a passport, an ID card from the EU, an ID card for foreign nationals, a Dutch residence permit or a driver’s license.

Good but currently useless
Currently, the App gets blocked by a pop-up regarding tax residency. You can’t use the app anymore unless you have answered complicated questions with buggy upload queues of documents. It's the worst UX I have seen in a while, as you can not click it away and use the app. Thus, you can't access your money! In the future, I will make sure to have more redundancy with other banks to rely less on ING.
Like time-traveling into the last century
Nothing works. Every interaction with this bank is painful. I hope the neo banks take over asap.

Nice app but trouble registering
I already have an ing account but needed to activate it on a new phone for which I needed to scan a passport. This doesn’t work since on iPhone 14 (pro) it takes the ultrawide camera which cannot focus properly on the passport. Also scanning the passport chip was difficult
Impossible to login with iPhone 14 Pro
The app is fine. I just got a new phone and now I need to register again which is also fine. The only way to do that is with a passport or ID card which is also fine but just offering one option is always stupid. Unfortunately, you can’t choose the camera you want to use and the preselected one can't do macro photos. So in short, I can’t use the app with my iPhone 14 Pro anymore because there are no other options for registering. Maybe time to move to a more modern bank?

Onmogelijk vanuit het buitenland met niet-NL ID te activeren. Uitsluitend Nederlandse documenten worden geaccepteerd.
ID fotoscanner meldt: te donker, te ver, te dicht, maar nooit goed. Indien niet regelmatig ingelogd wordt, kan je elke paar maanden weer opnieuw van voren herbeginnen. En geen enkele support voor niet residente Nederlanders of andere Europese nationaliteit. Een regelrechte schande
