Tread carefully

I raised money for a project that was successfully funded. They took the money from people & then Instead of sending me the money people pledged i just get an automated copy & paste email over and over with no actually human response. I’m trying to make a coloring book and instead of celebrating our small success I’m trying to figure out how to talk to someone who is holding the money & explain to the supporters that we haven’t got laid yet.

Good app and easy to use

Of the over 100 KickStarters I have participated in, I have only lost money on 3-4. Not all of the people on KS are honest and you can lose money but I’ve found it to be worth the risk.

.Kickstarter removed me from a project I was backing without informing me or anything

Spam heavy

I have repeatedly notified KS to stop spamming me with inappropriate ads about things of a sexual nature. I have backed zero things that tie to any of that. Once I receive my final item, from KS that I. Asked, I am deleting my account. Friend of mine have already done so. I am not supposed to get emails or notifications from anyone but the things I have backed. They don’t seem to care.

Biggest Scam App

“Invested/Funded” 2 project in 2016. Product not delivered, have not gotten an update since 2021. Kickstarter is no help. Just wait until you see the product sold by Amazon. Never again Kickstarter

I absolutely love the concept of Kickstarter! But that’s as far as it goes lately. In the beginning it was a great platform for independent developers to get a leg up on their projects, but now it’s just a platform for scammers to take your money and run! The worst part is that you have absolutely no recourse when this happens. Kickstarter is just the platform for the creators so they have no interest in policing the environment at all. As a matter of fact Kickstarter gets there cut no matter the outcome. Of the last four projects that I’ve sponsored three have fallen off the edge of the earth with no trail left to follow. They have shutdown emails, websites, and left no trail to pursue. This is literally a huge open to the public scam site at this point, “In my humble opinion” The total dollars that the last three projects have netted is $677,422.00 with no resource for any of those individuals. And those are just the ones that I pledged. Don’t do it!

Kickstarter should force the people that create campaigns to provide updates and let the backers know if the product is unable to be delivered…. And not just go silent….because honestly I stopped backing projects because it’s happened a couple of times where projects are successfully funded and no products come- but more importantly no updates and the creators just go radio silent …. If they are going to provide this type of platform someone should be held accountable.. if something doesn’t work out fine … but someone should be responsible for telling us….the creators shouldn’t be taking the money and run… because sometimes that’s what I feels happens… it’s sad because there have been some projects that are great and work out and those projects are missing out because people have been burned by those who take advantage and don’t feel obligated to update their backers…..
