Don’t back any projects on Kickstarter as most of it is a scam. You contact kickstarter and they do nothing. Useless bunch of idiots
I accidentally stumbled across Kickstarter a year or more ago and I haven’t looked back!! At the time I had only just kicked a bad habit and found myself with a bit of extra cash each fortnight and having bought every Cthulhu Wars item I could get my hands on, I kept coming across the name Kickstarter!! Intrigued I simply had to look into it and look into it I did, and I haven’t looked back since!! I have backed, or pledged for close to 100 projects and I am as keen now as I was when I received my first reward!!! Being a HPLovecraft Fiend most of my pledges have been for Lovecraftian items from Tarot cards to normal cards to board games and RPG style games to amazing coins used for in place of cards etc in Tarot readings, as replacement for all dice needed for any games, amazing graphic novels and comics and books and other things. I can tell anyone interested but wary to simply put in a pledge for something that grabs your attention wether it be cheap or expensive and just go with it. I have never been disappointed with my rewards as they have all been of the highest quality and if you get in quickly, you might get an Early Bird discount!!! Go to the Kickstarter website and have a read about how it works and then have a look at what you are interested in and pledge!! You only pay once a project is “successful “ and then you will receive updates along the period whilst the items are being made. But beware, it’s very addicting and great fun as well ; imagine being able to get something special for that certain someone and no one else has seen it before or has it, people will ask where you buy your amazing products, and you can either let them know or just buy them something and put kickstarter on the card.. I owe a great deal to kickstarter,!!!, if it wasn’t for them I might still be wasting money and brain cells smoking the synthetic, but instead I am buying items that I love and haven’t seen elsewhere 10 out of 10. Give them a go, and you won’t look back!!!!!
Money taken for items. No delivery on item, basically impossible to contact anyone and trouble shooting is ridiculous. Looks like they hope you just give up!!!
As with other reviews, Kickstarter takes no responsibility for any backers scammed on their site, regardless of size and scope of the scams, you are on your own! Not worth the risk!!!
In 2018, I supported several projects, experiencing a mix of successes and disappointments. One particular project met its funding goal but failed to deliver the promised product to backers. Unfortunately, there’s no recourse through Kickstarter to report such incidents or contact the project creators directly. It’s a frustrating situation, leaving backers feeling cheated and powerless. This loophole provides an easy opportunity for scammers to exploit people’s trust and hard-earned money without any consequences.
Out of 13 backings, I’m yet to receive 7 items! It’s a den of thrives!!! Don’t buy or back anything they tell you! Save your money! Abort! Abort!!

I love a good gadget and I have funded and RECEIVED some great things ( Tucktec kayak, Milo communicator to name a few ) I seem to have done my dough on a number of others and have been unable to obtain any redress from the developers or ,indeed , from Kickstarter . Kickstarter OUGHT to fight for the investors IMHO
Kickstarter take no responsibility for products on their platform, nor carry out background checks on creators - as such when you pledge money on a ‘successful’ projects, like vinylsonic, whom collected $670k from over 4000 people n disappeared, you end up with nothing. 15 months later n Kickstarter have wiped their hands, no response from creators for 8 months now, never shown proof of any manufacturing capacity or working prototype, just the original mock-up & promo page. this project was supported by jellop, backercrew, backersonly & more…it’s another typical fake startup with a contact in the USA linked to China but without any way to hold them accountable or responsible. it’s a MASSIVE SCAM…zero stars, if you want to flush your mobey down the toilet go on ahead…
Over the years, Kickstarter has raked in $1b but invested little in its app. The most anyone could say about it is: “It’s fine.”
