The app locks at 1/33 and that is all you can do. The interface is there for manual adjustments, they just don’t work. Probably developers hasn’t cared to update the app after iOS 16 was released. That also should tell you a lot about the kind of support you are ever gonna get. Zero. You email support, you will never get a reply. Honestly, best you keep looking for another app. Update: with the latest version this has been resolved. Thanks to the developer. I have increased the stars from 1 to 4. The only reason I haven’t scored it with 5 stars is because I wish it would offer flat color spaces, log3 or slog color spaces. Most decent apps allow for this and I feel it is the only thing missing for this app to truly go head to head with any other app out there… If the developer is listening, please….

I am a news cameraman used to work with big broadcast cameras. I liked Mavis because it’s so fast and it reminds me of broadcast cameras. I’ve bought and tried about 10 cam apps . Mavis was my favourite cam app , together with beastcam , until recently. I could lick the shutter and it woul remain locked, no matter how much I would change the exposure, it’s the only app I know that really locked the shutter. But the horrible ios16 damaged the app and Mavis didn’t care to update their app to fix the problems caused by the new iOS. The shutter is now erratic, for example. I contacted Mavis three times but they never cared to respond.

It’s not possible to do a smooth zoom between 0.5-1-3x cameras . You can support them separately, but not smoothly transition between them. Not really sure why this feature is not supported . So much stuff in this app- but this basic feature is not there :/ If it’s there and I just didn’t find it - please help

Hi! Sorry i needed to get your attention. Great app but suddenly Auto Gain for external mics has gone and manual gain for internal. Auto for external mics is extremely important. Please put back (i have upgraded). Thanks! James

I finally found an inexpensive video recording app that would allow me to input audio from my audio interface (audient id14) - using apple’s camera adapter of course, plus a powered usb hub. The stock camera app on the iphone (xr) only created videos with the left ear audible, while another very popular app crashed each and every time I hit the record button while my audio interface was selected as the input. I can finally record video with the direct quality of audio I’m looking for. Less fuss with post production and syncing.

This app is the only app I found which allows me to have a greater control of the bitrate, resolution etc. however, for some reason I can’t zoom in with 4K 60fps selected! This alone makes this app useless. Please fix this!!!

It might be a good paid version but you cannot justify spending money on something you cannot review. There is no free trial or ability to check how good are its function before you commit to spend your money. The developer would gain so much by even enabling short trial so that potential users can review their features. Whenever the app does not have free trial there is an element of thinking that they binding how bad the apps features are. Bad marketing and service imo.

This is my favourite camera control app as a professional used to scopes, etc and also the picture quality and buttery smoothness is uber-impressive. I bought a Zhiyun Smooth 4 gimbal as it was listed in app but on delivery of gimbal it appears not, though its listed and mapped on website. I emailed Zhiyun and they stated that it’s incompatible. I have bought FilmicPro and that works beautifully with The gimbal and has a lot of control. Why is it listed in the app and website, and as an extra paid component? Also, the app needs updating. Such a shame if the app is left to rot as I much prederbit to FilmicPro but will have now to use the latter because it (honestly) works with the gimbal.

I would like the implementation of ‘auto-lock WB on record’. For me this feature really supports what iPhones are best for when shooting video - speed! Thanks guys, keep up the good work.
