Avoid
Google have absolutely ruined the Nest ecosystem. Such a shame they didn’t just leave them alone. Incredibly unreliable cams and connectivity. Have gone through entire network overhaul to try to fix it but no joy. Do not use their cameras.

App constantly crashing on iOS
Constantly crashes on my iPhone.
The app won’t start the boiler outside home network
The app randomly won’t connect to the thermostat over the internet. Trying to start the boiler while I’m away and increasing the target temperature does nothing. It happens randomly. On teliable networks (pther smart home devices connect just fine). Tried all imaginable troubleshooting. Moved over to Hive.
Don’t buy it
The worst app ever. Cant turn on heating for desidered time. Thermostat shows higher temperature than it really is so heat won’t turn on. So stupid
Unreliable
When I change the temperature in the app, mostly the new value doesn’t go through, nothing happens on the thermostat. At the same time, if I change the temperature on the thermostat the new value appears in the app in a second. The issue exists on all my Nest thermostats and only through the app, while other smart devices have no issues at all in my home so I assume it has something to with the app.

Frequently failing
The control dial software is tricky to navigate and regularly disconnects for no reason. I have it about 8 years.
Very basic hasn’t improved or changed in 4 years
Very basic app they hasn’t progressed in any way over my ownership of the nest cameras. Zero progress App same Cameras same Zero investment from nest Old tech at this stage , basic cameras that have stood still Nest needs to start some real innovation
Worse support ever
The support for Google Nest Thermostats is extremely bad. On the chat or over the phone it is the same issue, they keep looking at their “resources”. They keep giving you answers that have nothing to do with your questions.. and end chats whenever they want. You need two things to be successful, a great product (you do have it) and a great support (you don’t)

How do you schedule nest to come on for 30 minutes only rather than setting a time and temperature ? Thanks
