===============================

Adventure calls... but you don't always have time to spend hours optimizing your character sheet or managing your inventory! One Deck Dungeon lets you jump right in to bashing down doors, rolling dice, and squashing baddies with style. Get a full roguelike game experience, boiled down to its essence, and captured in a single deck of cards and a handful of dice!

One Deck Dungeon is a dungeon crawling adventure game for one or two players. Each time you play, choose one or two of these 6 brave heroes:

• Mage - There's rarely a problem in the dungeon she can't solve with a spell.
• Warrior - Her favorite dungeon activity is squashing her opponents immediately.
• Rogue - Watch in awe as she dispatches monsters with style.
• Archer - Accurate, brilliant, catastrophically deadly.
• Paladin - She seeks out danger and shields her allies from deadly enemies.
• Mist - This breach mage has crossed over from the world of Aeon's End to help defend Mynerva. Learn more at AeonsEndDigital.com!

After every game, your heroes make progress toward unlocking up to 15 new talents, building up their power for future games.

There are 5 dangerous challenges to face:

• Dragon’s Cave - The thick-skinned wyvern who occupies this dungeon prefers her heroes on the crispy side.
• Yeti’s Cavern- If you can survive the freezing winds and biting cold, an abominable snowman awaits.
• Hydra’s Reef - Chop off one head, and another appears! This regenerating venomous monstrosity is a slippery foe.
• Lich’s Tomb - Hordes of undead foes, evil curses, and magical wards. What could possibly go wrong?
• Minotaur’s Maze - Abandon all hope, ye who enter here!

More content is available via In App Purchase:

The Forest of Shadows expansion doubles the content in the game. It features adventures in all-new lush yet deadly locales. A vast network of mossy underground tunnels and connected forest areas await your heroes!
• 5 new heroes - Alchemist, Druid, Hunter, Slayer, & Warden
• 5 new dungeons - Lair of Indrax, The Mudlands, Realm of Venom, Smoldering Ruins, & The Vile Roots
• A complete new 44-card encounter deck
• Additional progression focuses, basic skills, potions, & more!

The Abyssal Depths expansion adds a new kind of threat: Fiends who hound you throughout your entire quest to reach the boss. It includes 6 different Fiends, each with two levels of difficulty. Plus, 2 new aquatic heroes join the fight in the murky waters!

Individual expansion cards:
• Caliana - This faerie has decided that dungeoneering looks fun! Don't let her get bored...
• Fanatic - A righteous Sentinel is here to smite evil wherever it may lurk!
• Witch - Her chaotic magic hammer is ready to smash glooping oozes into glooping puddles!
• Cinder Plains - The Hellhound awaits those reckless enough to venture here...
• Phoenix's Den - Only the bravest heroes can handle the heat!

Once you know your way around the dungeon, a game takes about 15 minutes. It might take a little longer if you're learning, or a lot shorter if you jump into a pit of spikes.

Warning: do not jump into a pit of spikes.

All cards in One Deck Dungeon have many colorful boxes. Roll your dice, and attempt to fill in as many boxes as possible. For every one you don't fill, you’ll suffer consequences in hearts and time! Once you complete an encounter you'll be able to learn a new skill, acquire a new item, or gain experience to level up your hero.

Welcome to the world of One Deck Dungeon. Adventure awaits!

Too grindy

Gypsymacgyver on

It looks like a decent adaptation of a card game, and I like some of the style. It’s good that the designer decided to go for an all female cast, for instance. However, it’s boring. Very boring. It’s really grindy, meaning you have to do the same stuff over and over again to boost a stat or gain a skill. It’s also very hard to get to a point where it gets easier. I can understand not wanting to have a game which is too easy, but this one is hard for the sake of forcing replays...and it’s nowhere near enjoyable enough for that. Play a dungeon, spend 30 minutes rolling dice and puzzling out where to put them. Just before meeting the boss, draw a card which needs, say, 5 armour to defeat. Roll all under 5. Game over, nothing you can do about it, start again. Change character? Start again from scratch and go through the same boring grind. If I could have one wish granted for this game, it would be to have an ‘even easier mode’ which you could activate by levelling up one character to the max, then others could be done quicker.

1.5 update broken

SpookyElectric1 on

Just getting a grey screen after the 1.5 update (28 Oct 20). 😔 Edit: 1.5.1 update - same issue. Deleted and re-installed but still not working. iOS 14.2. Edit: Now fixed. Although iOS 14.2 has been available to developers (I am one) for some time now, so should’ve been fixed a bit sooner really.

Decent game; screen swiping needs to be fixed.

Liofa73 on

Decent game but the swiping between screens is maddening. It doesn’t swipe like the main iOS home screen with a quick swish of the finger. You have to really grab it from one edge of the screen to slowly swipe all of the way across the screen to get it to move. One the flip side, just touching the screen makes the screen wobble as if it’s going to swipe. So when you roll the dice the interface thinks you’re about to swipe. The sensitivities for swiping are all wrong. A quick swipe should swap screens and a tap to roll the dice shouldn’t move the entire screen. Surely this can be fixed, other apps don’t have this problem. Really takes away from the immersion and speed of the game.

Wonderfully satisfying

Jimbops on

There’s something so satisfying about finding synergies in the mechanics to protect against RnG. I will more than likely buy the expansions when I have exhausted the base content, which I’m nowhere near yet!

Enjoyable, well presented and simple in concept.

Games take a decent amount of time to play through. Pretty tough to beat the dungeon bosses but the game has progression, allowing you to upgrade characters over time. There are some dubious value in-game purchases but at least you know what you are getting so you can make that call. Would be interesting to see how it compares with the physical card game.

Nice idea for a game tho it really really annoying when you finally beat a dungeon boss and the game then crashes as when you load back in the points you would have won to upgrade your character are gone. Makes wining pointless.

A good game

Mark55555555555 on

The dice mechanics are fine but the problem with this game is it has an artificial difficulty ramp, you start off with no abilities (Such as modifying dice rolls or an extra health potion) and the game gives you starting abilities with every game you play, making the game a lot easier. On the other hand it’s big plus is the game is the abilities are given through gameplay and not in app purchases.

Ok but limited and way over priced

jimbobaroo33 on

Not bad to waste a few hours. But the game seems unfinished, not much content and no variety. Just the same baddies and obstacles over and over again. There is very little to tell the 5 characters apart they all have the exact same skill trees with just a few starting stat differences and a different starting skill. Plus for some reason you can only play as a female character I assume they couldn’t be bothered to do the male art work! The interface is very clunky and you find yourself having to repeatedly press icons till you get a reaction. Like I said definitely not worth 9.99 more like 1.99 in its current state. It as got the potential to be better so I’ll watch out for the updates.

Good but hard

Goonerman158 on

I’m enjoying this but boy is it hard. I can always reach the dragon, but never come close to killing it. It seems far too overpowered. It feels like you need to use the character progression feature, but that adds an element of grinding. Also, really needs expansions to add more variety to cards. There are so many ideas to be exploited here, almost endless. Oh well, off for another try... Update: it’s a little easier with two heroes, and I have now beaten the first dungeon on Novice! There is, I think, a ton of strategy to be found behind all the dice rolls. I’m learning it slowly. Good fun. Recommended.

Very nice game

A brilliant little game. Nice progression. I've been hooked since my purchase.
