Freezes on login screen on iOS 15.4.1

This was a good app. But now it freezes on login screen on iOS 15.4.1 I hope the developers can release a fix soon. It’s currently unusable.

Worth the investment.

Fast and efficient, add a phone app and information is exactly where it’s needed all the time- and then it can extended and customised with additional applications.

Extremely handy for my particular use case

This app made my existing ownCloud server even more useful, especially for my use case of easily transferring photos from my iPhone to ownCloud and then on to my Linux desktop. It works superbly for that and I’m most grateful. I also appreciate that it’s continued to improve in that area over time. I’m giving four stars largely because I can’t say I use it’s capabilities widely enough to give a rating on the overall functionality it offers. In summary though: it’s an essential app for me and I use it multiple times every day. Recommended.

11.5.1 broke text files!

Can no longer display text files since 11.5.1. Looking at the testing report for this release it was only ‘smoke tested’ which didn’t even check those most basic pieces of functionality, which you managed to break. Not good software development practice is it?

Recently it’s using battery even when quit

What have you changed? I don’t want to see this as the only item in my list of apps using battery when my phone is idle. I’ve offloaded the app to stop its unwanted background activity. Shame.

So close

Works fine for accessing files but uploading files is a total nightmare. Files get constantly stuck in a ‘pending’ state. And then stop other things uploading. I wouldn’t mind so much if there were a way to cancel the uploads.

Inconsistent, slow, async operations fail

It seems like this client is just written by junior developer. The old client was much more consistent, responsive and failed less albeit being a bad software as well. Side by side this client fails to do a directory listing sometimes while the old client just does it instantly. It reports that things are coming from cache but they aren’t. Shows nothing. Async operations just hang in the background. “Looking for server changes” takes several hours to finish with no apparent outcome. OwnCloud is such a good product, it’s a shame that the most important client is just useless.

Defeats the Purpose

The point would be to have access to files on demand. Quickly! This new version insists on syncing a mobile device (!) with a full repository of thousands of items. So a coffee and a visit to the ... later it is still at 104/... syncing nonexistent changes, but the one item that did change is waiting with a spinning wheel. Revering to the good old grey version, then checking NextCloud.

OK, but buggy

This app is very much hit and miss. When it works, it works well. The problem is, it’s buggy. Sometimes auto photo upload works, sometimes it doesn’t (and sometimes the upload path option disappears completely from the menu). Also, randomly the app refuses to let me into my account. Clicking the server name just results in a spinning circle (verifying that it works in safari, so isn’t a server issue). Killing the app doesn’t work, fixing this normally requires a reboot of the phone. So, it’s a useful app, but it’s hard to rely on it. Half the time I just use the web interface.
