We have used the app twice so far for weekend dog boarding and day care. We had great experiences with the two people caring for our dog and have found the app to be excellent. We are recommending the facility to all our friends with pets. We love the option to look for last minute dog sitters if your plans change.
This site is awful for petsitter. HUGE commission taken. Takes days or sometimes weeks for a payment to clear. Had to get PayPal but now they don’t support PayPal. This is a HORRIBLE app for people who love pet sitting.
I'm blind. With sighted help, I was able to submit my profile and engage with the wonderful couple who looked after our cat. In my opinion though, the app is in need of someone testing it using the VoiceOver screen reader built into iPhone. There are many unlabelled controls and difficult little modal interactions. Please try it for yourself and add the necessary control labels, I shouldn't have to press buttons or open menus just to see what they might do. It's typically not a problem, and I managed, but this great service and platform should be accessible. Disabled people are pet owners too, you know.
I build software for a living, so you could say I can be hyper critical. PetBacker did exactly what I needed it to do. Helped me post a request to find a pet taxi in an emergency! It was relatively easy to use - would be nice to include maps functionality so that you can see progress.
We use this App whenever we go on vacation to find the best sitter for our cat!
Admittedly left looking for a cattery and a sitter to the last moment but this app saved our holiday! It was easy to use and the ability to post a request and then engage with interested cat sitters is great. Really had peace of mind and overall I’m really impressed with how well this works
Easy and fun app but the features are all there to protect and provide great care for pets and sitters. Been sitting cats over 10 years but just started on Petbacker but will continue to build my kitty sit empire with great interest
I can highly recommend Pet Backer , I found the service very professional and reliable. Our pet boarder was Serina and I cannot fault her service . She is a kind , caring, dog loving Gem and we will be using the Pet Backer service again.
We advertised for someone through PetBacker to look after our dog for 3 weeks as we had been let down from our normal kennels that Oscar went to and we were apprehensive as to whether they had the person that we would be happy with , well after a few hours we had a couple of offers and decide on Glasgow Doggy Adventures Boarding and certainly made the right choice and it was so easy through the PetBacker app.It was my first time booking through them and certainly not the last.
This app is great for getting into contact with new customers etc, however as a business owner already, some of PetBackers ‘perks’ aren’t very useful for me. For example, paying for insurance through PetBacker, this takes off quite a significant sum of money from each and every booking when I have my own insurance anyway. There should be a feature which allows you to provide evidence of your own insurance in order to avoid being charged for theirs. Also you can only pay and be paid through PayPal which takes up to 2 weeks all in all. It comes in around 6/7 working days but including weekends this is a lengthy process. It would be a lot more beneficial if payments could be requested straight to your bank account to cut out a lot of the waiting. I use a number of other ways to advertise my business and gain new custom, PetBacker is okay but definitely not the best. They have created a new payout method which is advertised as ‘paid directly into your bank account’ however it gets transferred to an invoicing company called tazapay and you have to provide all sorts of business registration proof to be able to withdraw your own hard earned money! Now as a dog Walker earning below registration threshold, I don’t have those documents and I know lots of other service providers on PetBacker don’t! Not only is this false advertisement but it’s also depriving us of our own hard earned cash!
