Thank you for this app, i think it has great potential and i’m waiting for new updates
The software is pleasant and simple, which makes the app easy to use for beginners and advanced. After testing for few days, tools i noticed missing were:
- lasso select tool, to cut, select and move elements
- locking layers to avoid drawing on wrong layer
- managing the frames, if i want to transform my frame into 3’s or 4’s right now this feels too complicated and time consuming. I also can’t select and move multiple frames at a time or extend a frame in between other frames. This update would make things much smoother
- More control on onion skin, selecting how many frames i want to reflect
I work as animation director in the industry and i’m really excited about this app. Hope to get more tools in use! :)

Pretty good app, easy to understand and use, but missing lasso tool, which is very usefull in animation and I hope it will be added in the future!
Not well optimized
Sometimes it takes a sec for the mark to appear when drawing if I haven’t touched the screen with the pen for a bit, and often when I undo more than once in a row, white squares flash on the screen. It’s irritating to look at.
Beyond that, it really sucks that you can’t draw without the flipbook on the screen. The idea was to have as much of the screen space for drawing as possible, so why is the flipbook panel so big? It’s a good size in normal Procreate.
Also, transforms like warp and distort are somehow more unwieldy than in Procreate. Overall I was disappointed. Perhaps they made the app too cheap is this is the quality they can afford to offer.
Lacking some features
It’s really good and feels quite professional. But I feel like it lacks a LOT of features like a circle tool, lasso tool and bucket tool. The copying of frames is also not a smooth process and should be fixed. And the app freezes a lot when I start working slightly faster. I really hope more features get added in updates.
Hard to use
Lacks a lot of features that is usually essential for animation. Not friendly for beginners. I hopes it can be fixed.
Update: some of the features has been fixed. But the main issue is still crushing of the app after some point of making the animation.
Cool ideas and features but lacking in the UI&UX
Has portential and would have given better scores if the user experiense was not so bad.
Main struggel for me is the used some UI features from procreate and the for some reason reinvented some others. Why is the main menu button in a uncommon place and why does it look diffrent from procreate.
Its the first time I had to search up how to exit my project innany drawing software. Same with the setting button could not for the life of me find it, and it was the title of the project all along. One of the most basic inticators of a easy to use UI is to make a button look like a button.
The same issue is with where to change the onion skin, again it took me forever to figure out it was the numbers that indicated the time on the timeline.
I also had trouble navigating the timeline as the zoom feature was sometime buggign and did not let me zoom out fully.
The key frames are a realy nice feature, but they are far too small. I think it would be easier to use if you could seperatly zoom verticaly and horizontaly.
Thers so much more I could comment on like why does my selected track change when I just dragg the position marker and why the effects transforms are so hard to find and use. Still have not figured out how to rotate an image without writing it out in the number field. And why cant I move or dublicate layers in draw mode, clipping mask are also missing. Anyway I could go on and on XD
In conclusion it feals like an video editing program and not a animating program, not realy sure if it should use the UI from procreate or apple. In the mix making the UX quite unplesant, even for me who has been animating in procreate, clip studio, photoshop, blender and after effects.
Even if the UI&UX is not someting I can prais the features are there and Im exited to see where this goes.
Disappointing for v1.0
I know this app will get updated and a lot of new features will be added. But for a release build, it’s incredibly lacking basic features any basic drawing or animation app has. Its buggy too. Not to mention it has to be one of the less intuitive apps and software ive used in years of trying multiple tools, even when following tutorials.
I also find sad that theres buttons missing for some important stuff that are ONLY controlled via gestures. iPads sometimes has issues registering gesture controls, and i imagine its a problem for people with some disabilities too (for example, undo and redo is gesture only. We need buttons for that too)
Maybe this app will become a favorite eventually, but currently its lacking in things that even free apps/software have. I would rather sacrifice and wait for other features the app currently has, so I could have those basic functionalities from the start.
Ive used procreate since 2013, so I know the team will deliver. But man, for something i was so excited to use, it was such a let down.
But i do want this to succeed, I just hope we dont need to wait months or years for that
