Lacking animation essentials

EllieKey13 on

Overall this is a pretty solid app, but I just can’t forgive that there is no lasso tool. If something is placed wrong the only way I’ve found to adjust its size without affecting the rest of the drawing is to copy paste the drawing onto a new track, erase all but the part I need to resize, resize it, and then trace it in its new position on the original track. It’s so tedious and convoluted OTL not being able to easily select and resize specific parts of a drawing is SO incredibly inconvenient ESPECIALLY for an animation app where changing the art is the name of the game

Great app!

I love how it’s coming along! I just have a few things I would like to be added. These include a way to resize and move things in the frame without needing to use the key frame feature, along with a lasso tool to allow more precise movement, another thing is the ability to import your music from 3rd party apps, ie. GarageBand. Overall great work, also do try to get the lasso tool out soon, it’s tedious to move things now.

Just like Tumblr Dashcon

Iykyk. Not much of a preorder kind of person, but I was absolutely stoked for this app. The night before it released, it felt like the night before Christmas as a kid, or the night before going on an exciting field trip at school. Opening it for the first time was magical. The actual animating part? Procreate Nightmares. This feels like spending the night at a buddy’s house and they don’t give you a blanket for the night so you’re coving up with anything you can find. Newspaper, the couch cushions, tucking your arms into your shirt. Can you make it through the night? Yeah, sure, but my god, I never want to do that again and you’re not my friend anymore.

The App is Terrible for animating

Vmc180 on

This application is awful. Procreate is great, but Procreate Dreams is so bad for animating. At first it’s a little confusing and a lot of the features are hidden behind gestures or holding on something for a minute. I have lost a lot of work simply by undoing by double tapping four times and redoing will not work once all progress is erased. The layer opacity will freeze and stay transparent, even when you 100% the opacity of the layer. Having to undo will erase my hard work. This app looks to be promising, but how it stands now, it is a nightmare to work with. If you wish to hand animate on your iPad. I would recommend RoughAnimator. Rough animators so much simpler and works better than this. It is a shame because I love procreate but this app is just not it. I would not recommend spending $20 on this. Spend five dollars on RoughAnimator, it works well.

Too confusing

Hi im new to animations and idk where to start and plus its more confuseing then the ipad app so plz make it eayser and why was this app 21$!?! ( i forgot how much ). Love pastel paints

So frustrating

Just some writer guy idk on

Not much to say that hasn’t been said before, the onion skins are very limited in options and customizations, there’s no lasso/transform tool for specific areas, and most glaringly of all most of the features are hidden away and require hours of research to find how to do simple commands. But as for my experience personally, It somehow manages to be even more difficult to use. For seemingly no reason my procreate dreams frequently crashes, lags ,or simply does not input my brush strokes at all. More so on that latter in recent updates, (seeing as I just installed the update and now the program is borderline unusable). Every single stroke I try to make either takes a full second to render in (completely destroying the creative flow that drawing is supposed go have) or simply doesn’t register the first time. Or second. Or third. Then when it finally does, the line is all over the place since I didn’t expect it to register. Overall I have to say I’m really disappointed in this app and the lack of updates fixing any of these issues commonly brought up by the user base. I was really hoping this could finally be the pocket animation program that would change everything, but it has got to be one of the worst drawing programs ever created instead. Well, either that or maybe I’m dealing with a stupid Apple “outmoding old iPads” thing but my regular procreate runs fine so idk what it is. I still hold out hope it’ll improve with every new update but so far I’m really displeased with this app :(

Didn’t deliver

Not sure who they designed this app for but it was not animators

Add an undo button

Reviewer#1009 on

I love procreate because of its simplicity and variety of tools. However, when I downloaded procreate dream, I drew some pictures but when I tried to undo something, I couldn’t. I spent the next 10 minutes trying to undo but just made it worse. After that, I figured about gestures and I find that they’re a headache. You might accidentally double click and lose it so it’s not that good. Please add an undo button to make life easier.

Needs more Tools!!

SpectralConcepts on

I really like this app and it has great potential, but it lacks some essential tools that are in Procreate. Overall it’s easy to use once you understand the layout. BUT please add the Lasso and Liquify tools in Procreate Dreams!!!
