RoughAnimator FAQ
Is RoughAnimator free?
Yes, RoughAnimator is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is RoughAnimator legit?
✅ The RoughAnimator app appears to be high-quality and legitimate. Users are very satisfied.
I really enjoy this app, but unfortunately there is this weird bug that cancel stroke while drawing multiple times until it will work and back to redo strokes while drawing. This happens even if I turn off fingers gestures. Annoying but possible to work anyway. Nice thing would be to add layer color options like multiple, light, darken and etc.
I love this app
It is super easy application and suitable for professional work and beginners. I love it.
I just wonder if it is possible to export photoshop file with timeline to this? Also it would be great if I could export photoshop file from this app. Then it would be even more perfect.
If there was motion tween it would be 5
Besides everything is great. Everything you need for profesional animation. Except lack of motion tween it would also be good to be able draw outside the canvas.
Edit: I change to 5. Tweening can be done with Make Cycle and camera has been added.
Opinion & Suggestion
Okay, so i know it might be aesthetic stuff, but you should add a dark mode to the app, it would make it more ,,modern” or just less blinding/battery using, i know it is a little suggestion but think about it ;)
Now about the opinion, i think it is a great app. I was doing concepts and illustrations for 3 years, and i wanted to try something new, animations. This app makes it simple, but still has basically every tool you would need, it gave me a really nice experience in animating and motivated me to do more, if you are a beginner animator and you don’t have fancy drawing tablets and expensive programmes, this app is what you are looking for. It’s beginner friendly, easy to handle, and it can take your creativity to the next level. Animations aren’t easy, but with a bit of hard work and passion, you will touch the sky. 10/10 app.
Fantastic!
Finally an animation app that is not infuriating! It’s almost like you’d combine Procreate (two finger tap undo) and TvPaint (timeline) in one app. The UI is perfect - everything you need and none of the crap you don’t need. The timeline is easily scrollable, keyframe controll is intuitive and misclick-proof (THANK YOU!). You can hide the brush settings and timeline if you need to declutter the canvas. It is perfect for traditional hand drawn animation. I’m not sure you can tween the object position, rotation and scale but I can live with that. Lasso tool is great to compensate this. It just tells instantly that the app was made by professional animators. Amazing job guys :)
Perfect
Simple and everything I need for simple animation s with an iPad Pro and pencil
I can’t navigate it
I have used many animating apps as well as video editing tools, and I’m finding this incredibly frustrating. it’s not intuitive in anyway, and when I try to find something to help me navigate it, Im met with more frustration. I wish I hadn’t spent the eight dollars. If I can somehow figure out how to do what im trying to do, I’ll reevaluate my rating and review
I’m confused
Maybe I’m just dumb. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out how the heck to animate things on here can somebody like tell me?😭👋🏼
Great app but it missing more useful tools
Downloading a new bushes didn’t turn out soft what I wanted, it need clipping layers for shading so I don’t jade to erase every single of the outline it would help me finish my animation bit faster. I would also like if it have pixel brush it would be fun as the old days
Best Animation App For IPad
I’ve used rough animator for years. It’s the closest thing to industry standard for an iPad I can find. It also works on Mac. Easy to learn! If you have flipaclip, delete that trash app and buy rough animator immediately. The creator also updates the app! What it’s missing is probably a gradient tool or a blur tool to to give some different texture. Other than that it’s perfect and so much fun to use!
