Salesforce Authenticator

Description

Salesforce Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts as a strong, out-of-band authentication provider. The app sends you a push notification, and you tap 'Approve' for logins and critical actions when it's you, or 'Deny' if it's not. For even more convenience, Salesforce Authenticator can use location services to automatically verify from locations you trust, like your office or home. Better yet, Einstein can save trusted requests for you! Then you need only respond to notifications when something out-of-the-ordinary happens.

You can also get a verification code when you need one. The codes also work as a backup authentication method if you're on a plane, or have poor connectivity. This means Salesforce Authenticator also works with third-party services that use OATH TOTP tokens.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Rest assured, we go to great lengths to ensure minimal GPS use so that Salesforce Authenticator does not significantly impact your battery life.

Absolute crap

Since SDFC has made it mandatory it just doesn’t work. Everyone hates the thing, no one wants to use it

Why app need all this data collection?

It is supposed to be a simple Authenticator app but it’s collecting way more data. By the way why not make a desktop app of this as most users are corporate users who can laptops. Let the user choose if they wanna have this on laptop or mobile. Please provide its computer version.

Auto approval needs attention

Auto approval does not work. Every time you need to give manual approval. Apart from that great security app.

Location trust is not working

Even after setup location trust automation approved its working some time but most of the time it doesn’t work and you have to manually approve the request.

Super finicky

The new MFA stuff just makes something as simple as login so complicated. To top it off, its apparently set to be “enforced”

Auto approval not working

I have turned on auto approve from my current location but it is not happening. I have switched the location privacy to always on.

It’s working just fine!
