Salesforce Authenticator

Published by: salesforce.com

Description

Salesforce Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts as a strong, out-of-band authentication provider. The app sends you a push notification, and you tap 'Approve' for logins and critical actions when it's you, or 'Deny' if it's not. For even more convenience, Salesforce Authenticator can use location services to automatically verify from locations you trust, like your office or home. Better yet, Einstein can save trusted requests for you! Then you need only respond to notifications when something out-of-the-ordinary happens.
You can also get a verification code when you need one. The codes also work as a backup authentication method if you're on a plane, or have poor connectivity. This means Salesforce Authenticator also works with third-party services that use OATH TOTP tokens.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Rest assured, we go to great lengths to ensure minimal GPS use so that Salesforce Authenticator does not significantly impact your battery life.

Don’t get a new phone!

SMNatureandBirdnerd on

United States

I recently purchased a new phone and it’s been a nightmare with this app and now the website. It doesn’t recognize me-okay fine-I can reset my information-except it won’t allow me to do that either. I had an important email to send out about a sale we were having and no one knew about it because I couldn’t send. I am beyond frustrated.

Why can’t I use my watch for approvals?

BeSublime on

United States

It’s almost 2025. I still can’t use my watch to approve my authentication. Remember my location still doesn’t work. I wish I could be one of the people for whom this is a 5-star app.

This cannot be a real app

A drunk monkey could design something better than this. Nothing works.

STOP Asking for Permissions

neBettin on

United States

I denied access for Location/Background. If I change my mind I can find those options in the settings to toggle them. The constant prompts for permissions that have been denied are ridiculous.

So Secure UwU

It’d be nice if it actually automated when I give it the okay….safety first I guess

Great Authenticator

Hmzillet68 on

I love that it pops up on my iPhone and Watch and I can approve wigs click without manually entering in the number.

App works fine

Need to move the options to a side bar so you can easily change the location services log in.

Annoying nagware

drewluski on

United States

Constantly asking if it can pwetty pwease send you notifications and won’t trigger authentication requests unless you start the process to confirm manually, at which point it will prompt you to authenticate. Additionally, Salesforce doesn’t accept alternative Authenticators, which I’m sure makes them very happy and gives them plenty of opportunities to say “synergy”

The Worst

UWS NYC on

Good luck getting this to work if you get a new mobile device. Nothing it says should happen is correct and in typical fashion, instructions are either vague or inaccurate. Someone there needs to get a clue! Horrible app.
