Description
Salesforce Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts as a strong, out-of-band authentication provider. The app sends you a push notification, and you tap 'Approve' for logins and critical actions when it's you, or 'Deny' if it's not. For even more convenience, Salesforce Authenticator can use location services to automatically verify from locations you trust, like your office or home. Better yet, Einstein can save trusted requests for you! Then you need only respond to notifications when something out-of-the-ordinary happens.
You can also get a verification code when you need one. The codes also work as a backup authentication method if you're on a plane, or have poor connectivity. This means Salesforce Authenticator also works with third-party services that use OATH TOTP tokens.

Works really well - even if annoying
The app functions very well and is easy to use. Just annoying to have to use it, but that’s not the app’s fault!
Does not work.
Automated approve does not work. It is ridiculous that a company like Salesforce can’t get it right. I sign on multiple times a day from my house and am forever switching on automated approve and it works maybe 25% of the time. Please fix this ASAP

Remember location does not work
What’s the point in only remembering a location for 30 seconds, which seems to be how this ‘feature’ is implemented. Should be useful but actually just bloody infuriating.
NEVER remembers your location
No matter how many times you log in from the same location, with location services ON, and save for the future, it does not remember your location. So every time, you need to go through the process as if it were a brand new location. For a company the size of SalesForce, this is extremely poor and lazy
One-Click Approval
This app is by far the best Authenticator app I have experienced. The One-Click approval, even on a smartwatch means that this isn’t of any inconvenience for users so roll-out is a breeze.
Well thought out app
Nobody wants blockers in the way of logging in to any system but as we all know there has to be a trade off with security. It seems Salesforce have balanced this well, giving auto approval functionality from recognised IPs with push notifications to let you know when this has happened. All in all a nice easy transition to MFA
