Santander Cycles is the self-service, bike-sharing scheme for short journeys in inner London.
The official Santander Cycles app from Transport for London is the only app to send bike release codes straight to your smartphone. So you can skip past the docking station terminal and get on your bike quicker.
Simply register with your bank card, and use the app to ‘Hire now’ from a nearby docking station. Follow the instructions to get your bike release code. Tap the code into the docking point and you’re good to go!
You can also:
• See up-to-the-minute information about which docking stations have bikes and spaces available
• Plan a journey with an easy to follow map
• Receive notifications – for example, summarising the cost at the end of your hire
• View your recent journeys and charges
• Save your favourite docking stations
• Become a London Rider - complete challenges and hire cycles to earn entries into a weekly prize draw!
Each bike release code is valid for 10 minutes at your chosen docking station.
Please note the app doesn’t reserve bikes. If there are no bikes available at the docking station, don’t worry. Use the app to find a nearby docking station with bikes, and get another bike release code to use there. You won’t be charged until you use the release code.

Fiz o cadastro, debitaram o valor de £2 mas nao recebo o codigo de verificacao para validar o app. Não consigo contato com a empresa...

Fiz o cadastro ,debitaram duas vezes o valor de £2 e meu cartão de credito e enviaram uma mensagem de cartao recusado pelo app . Achei que aqui em Londres era diferente mas vi que alguns serviços sao péssimos .
Muito Ruim!
Não consegui realizar o cadastro no aplicativo informando que o cartão não aceitava a compra! Porém houve cobrança do aplicativo no cartão por 2 vezes!! Absurdo!! Não recomendo a ninguém!

Although I couldn’t complete the signup process I was charged two pounds on every attempt.

Não consegui cadastrar mas descontaram 2£! Ridículo
Não Funciona e Ainda cobra no Cartão
Tentei por 3x me cadastrar no App preenchendo varios dados, incluindo o endereço em que estava hospedado em Londres. O App respondia como pagamento recusado pelo cartão, porém na mesma hora eu recebia o SMS com a confirmação de pagamento. Um erro bem básico para um App desses e ainda cobra o cliente sem ter utilizado. E o pior: não consegui utilizar o serviço.
Sistema não funciona
Não consegui usar o código enviado. Não é claro como utilizar pois o código enviado é formado por quatro números de 1 a 9 e no bicicletário só tem como preencher de 1 a 3. Não consegui tirar a bicicleta e fiquei com o prejuízo do valor pago.
It does not handle international cellphone number
The app is very good for finding bicycle spots but is terrible for handling the actual rent process since it does not support international cell phone number for the SMS activation key.
