Bug Issues
This app has multiple bug issues and multiple times the app has crashed or error sign. I use the latest iPhone with ios 18 and still has alot of issues.
Description
Santander Cycles is the self-service, bike-sharing scheme for short journeys in inner London.
The official Santander Cycles app from Transport for London is the only app to send bike release codes straight to your smartphone. So you can skip past the docking station terminal and get on your bike quicker.
Simply register with your bank card, and use the app to ‘Hire now’ from a nearby docking station. Follow the instructions to get your bike release code. Tap the code into the docking point and you’re good to go!
You can also:
• See up-to-the-minute information about which docking stations have bikes and spaces available
• Plan a journey with an easy to follow map
• Receive notifications – for example, summarising the cost at the end of your hire
• View your recent journeys and charges
• Save your favourite docking stations
• Become a London Rider - complete challenges and hire cycles to earn entries into a weekly prize draw!
Each bike release code is valid for 10 minutes at your chosen docking station.
Please note the app doesn’t reserve bikes. If there are no bikes available at the docking station, don’t worry. Use the app to find a nearby docking station with bikes, and get another bike release code to use there. You won’t be charged until you use the release code.

Doesn’t even work. Crashes on iphone so would have given it a zero rating.
Do not work properly
Do not work - I cant login, cant hire a bike - blank page
Not working whenever I’m out and about
Today I was met with a fun completely white screen when I chose which fare I want. Usually I am logged out or my payment details (why on earth you can’t use Apple Pay) don’t work either. Unreliable and not user friendly.
This app does not even run natively on larger screens
It seems this app has not been updated seriously in ages. It had the form factor of an iPhone 8 (2018). Why can it not display in full resolution in an iPhone 14?

I have been using this app for a while now, but it recently started having issues. The app doesn’t open

This app fails to work for no reason despite redownloading it. The issue takes too long to be fixed.
Awful app
I love renting bikes when I go to different cities so I’m annoyed that the service in the city where I live is so rubbish! I can’t ever find the maps when im cycling on the app - so don’t know where to dock and end up cycling around asking locals as the app constantly crashes. It logs me out so doesn’t remember me as a user so I just resort to renting a bike from the actual docks now. Fed up of this app- wish another company could take it over or provide a better alternative to get Londoners cycling like other cities manage so easily.

App doesn’t work on the iPhone 16 pro, just keeps shutting down.
