Disappointment
I have bought this app over two years ago. I must say I’m very disappointed.It didn’t support any other pencil than Apple Pencil, so I bought the Apple Pencil that’s ok if it works. unfortunately, the function of this app is not well designed as a composer to quickly write music on the go and the most terrible part is, it does not recognise my hand writing well.Either it doesn’t recognise at all or making so many mistakes to the point that is almost useless.But I still had hope on this app.Give it some time to develop maybe it will get better.To this day, I didn’t see any major improvement.

es braucht am Anfang ein bisschen Geduld bis man es beherrscht aber dann macht es Riesenspaß!!!
Sehr schlechte Software
Leider überhaupt nicht zu gebrauchen, da dieses App meine handgeschriebenen Noten leider überhaupt nicht erkennt. Es rührt sich leider überhaupt nichts, wenn ich einen Takt eingegeben habe und auf den nächsten Takt klicke. Auch nicht, wenn ich wirklich richtig schön schreibe und versuche ganz genau zu sein. Leider ohne Erfolg. Schade um die € 80.- Euro. Ist das Geld aber so was von gar nicht wert. Auch nicht wenn es nur €5.- kosten würde. Tut leid. Das ist meine Meinung.
Best app for music Notation
This is the most amazing good app I have experienced in a Long time. Ist was the reason i bought myself a Windows Surface and switched 5 years later to ipad. Workflow is unbelievable smooth, thats what you would expect from the Sibelius (but they were just too assured (vane), that in music notation there is no innovation) Guess what, there is, and its the shi..!
The commands from other users, that this app mockes handwriting, I cannot understand. Of course it needs a little bit of practice but then it really works good. And in the app there a multiple tutorials to learn handwriting the notes.
But what is really astonishing about this app is, that you can write as if you were on paper. With scribbling and removing, and writing, making commands. You dont need paper anymore. The engine recognizes every input quite smooth. So as with other tools, you really can concentrate on composing and not on thinking, which note i have to type next.
And of course the sounds are amazing. Not like with some other softwares were you get ear-cancer from the sounds. These sounds are already unbelievable from the get-go, even if you havent made up your mind for the fine other sounds, staffpad has to offer.
And this all for a price which is for music notation software a real bargain. Believe me!
Limited Notation possibilities
Compared with Sibelius the Sound is much better. Unfortunately the Notation possibilities are very simple. For example writing Flageolett notes for strings is limited to the small circle above the note. There is no way of writing a 4th, minor 3rd etc Flageolett with the Programm. Forget multiphonics or any modern notation. I will be using it to export the XML music from Sibelius and play it on StaffPad.
Terrible disappointment
I was so hyped about this app, but it simply doesn’t recognize complex scores and basically just feels like mocking my handwriting. Extremely frustrating given the high price.
