Good but few flaws
StaffPad have few bugs and I had to restart the software many times especially when I want to insert a new bar. Also, the playback quality is not good with some wind instruments and make a weird noise But overall it’s a good tool

The concept is fabulous, and it looks lovely. The playback sounds is also much better than many other apps out there. However, it’s so unintuitive that I won’t use it, I’d rather use pen and paper and it actively makes me not want to transcribe. It just doesn’t work for me and I wish I hadn’t bought it - way too expensive for something I don’t use.
After one week, I realize this app is the best to write sheet fast. Thanks StaffPad !
I had trouble writing music in Notion so I got StaffPad. Infinitely easier to predictable results writing music in StaffPad. There is a learning cure but I was up and running in about 2 hrs. Really like the sound fonts and that you can import and export your music to other programs.
3 stars for the idea, 0 for the software development. The playbacks are also awful compared to how expensive they are sold.
It has the potential for greatness but it constantly crashes when I try to lock in my notes. I’m not writing some complicated masterpiece either. This is only the second bar of my first score in the app but I can’t get past it no matter what I try. It hard crashes the app every time. This is on a 2018 iPad Pro (which was getting very hot while using this app by the way).
Will you guys ever add cross-staff notation?
This app is truly amazing for a musician on the go. I would love to see more options like being able to switch to a ‘’page view’’ and to choose the exact number of measures per system (instead of selecting a number that automatically applies on all systems). When creating a PDF, I also think that it would be great to have the ability of leaving some measures completely empty (without silences) for musicians to write their own notes, if needed. I have zero problem with the hand writing recognition! Obviously, this app isn’t as complete as softwares like Finale but it has great potential and I am eager to see future updates 😃
This is the best software hands down for composers who studied music counterpoint orchestration etc.. The orchestral tools libraries are so expressive they sound real. I have stopped using Cubase for orchestral compositions. The difference is day and night. I'm using staffpad with the new M1 ipad Pro 12.9 inch and the 11 inch iPad pro from 2020. It works equally good. A great achievement in music. Congrats to the developers.
It took quite some time for me to get the hang of this app and to be honest I was quite frustrated at first. I have to say that the support team were quick to get back to me and I have since come to really appreciate the app for what it’s trying to do.
