The app is laggy
The app is laggy on the newest iPhone
The app is a slow piece of garbage
The app is not a native iOS app, but it seems to load all articles as if they were web pages. Opening the app and navigating to a downloaded article of the latest weekly edition can take up to 10 seconds on the latest iPhone. Name one other app that is this slow on iPhone, I’ll wait. For this price you would image an app to be top notch. Such a shame since the Economist is my favorite magazine by far.
Can’t translate anymore
With the latest update I can only copy text not being able to look up words. Very annoying

But why won’t my favourite articles sync between devices?
Quality content with a semi app
The content is naturally excellent but the app seems a bit oldish as what comes to the user experience and UI.
Unable to access content since the launch of the new app
I lost access to The Economist when the new app was launched. The old app stopped working, claiming that my subscription has expired (my subscription through iTunes just renewed for EUR 179.99 in March) and transitioning to the new version always produces an error message. Have spent hours on live chats with both Economist and Apple support, to no avail. Was forced to ask Apple to refund my purchase. Being a subscriber to multiple newspapers and magazines, I must say that I have never had such a bad customer experience with any other platform. Very disappointing, especially coming from a publication with such high quality content as The Economist.
Save position in article
I have been hoping for a feature where the app would remember my position in an article. Sometimes I don’t read articles in one go, and finding my place in the weekly issue takes always some time. Othewise great app.
Horrible business model
Cancelling the subscription has to be done via customer service - took me +20mims to process.
