Great magasin, terrible app

This app is really slow and crash frequently. So be very patient, when using it

Extremely Slow and laggy

Content is exceptional. But the app is ridiculously slow and laggy. On iPhone12, it took me entire 3 mins from click opening the app to start playing the audio for the week’s issue. So laggy I cannot even save articles. And it has been 6 month, and the experience is still horrifying. Also, apparently the developer don’t even bother to respond to criticism.

Slow and annoying customer service, bad app experience

When I switch to another app and the switch back to The Economis app, I restart at the front page, and it does not remember for me what article I was reading or how far I made it. So read the articles in one go, or prepare to be frustrated. Having not had the paper version delivered to the mailbox, I found out that I have to contact support. There's no simple way to report it. After contacting support through the app, I have to confirm my identity by listing name, address and other Infos, before they will accept my complaint. The whole thing took something like 10-15 minutes, it should take around 10-15 seconds, which is what I'm used to from my local newspaper. Closing my subscription was a Kafkan nightmare too, again only possible through talking to a person, who asks me how I'm doing today instead of getting my inquiry resolved. I then get an offer for half price before finally being able to close down my subscription. Again this took maybe 10-15 minutes. The journalism is great, though.

It’s simple, it's intuitive, it's manageable, it has dark mode, it's fast and responsive, and it contains the best journalism I have ever read.

Economist is number one

I have read The Economist for more than 20 years and still love it. The newer electronic media are excellent.
