Beware The Guardian's subscription scam!
I paid the subscription fee in the Google Play Store as my app suggested. But although it says you will unlock the full experience "on all your devices", this is not true. I logged in with the same Guardian account on the web and on my iPad, and neither recognise the subscription - both ask me to pay again. I spoke on the phone to their help desk and apparently this is intended behaviour. Unbelievable.
Not the best performance
For an app related to a news site, it fails to fulfil its most basic requirement of being to update itself and present the latest news. It's not unknown for the front page of a various page to have the latest headlines from 2 days ago. Takes forever to update and sometimes just doesn't get there. Hardly a handy replacement for the actual website which does what it's actually meant to do and updates in next to no time. Plus the aggravating nagging to support and subscribe when I have been for the last 5 years can be equally tiresome.

Identity politics echo chamber
I lament the polarization of all news sources. It seems readers and editors have sorted to separate sides of a line, and (almost) all news sources offer a single unchallenged view of the world, heavy on outrage, light on nuance or counter argument and rarely offering counter opinions.
This is a fairly good left-of-center newspaper, but offering a one sided and unchallenged perspective of the world, largely centered around identity politics.
If this matches your world view, and you would like to justify your pre-existing opinions and outrage at the world, this will be a comforting read.
However If you would like to better inform yourself, learn more about the world and competing opinions and if you would like to resolve problems and make a difference... reading the Guardian alone is unlikely to help.
Recommended only as part of a balanced diet of news sources, not to be consumed in excess.
Sober; definitive.
Best newspaper in the world. Period.

Very good and fast report.
