I’ve been a subscriber to the WSJ for decades. The app has two major flaws: 1) readers can’t comment on articles. For this reason I don’t use the app and I read the paper on a web browser. 2) the app is too sensitive when scrolling, often sliding sideways !! To a different article. Swiping back is harder somehow. Don’t waste time with the app, just use the website.

Stupid authtication

Anil V on

Don’t understand why they require a login on phones every day. It is a real nuisance. Even my bank is not as worried as these morons are of their articles that we pay for.

Terrific! Concise! Meaningful! Truthful.

Good app; bias coverage

LattismusDorsey on

United States

Is it me or is WSJ less neutral these days? I see a lot of"news" pieces that read more like the opinion section and this is concerning. I subscribed to this because I wanted to avoid echo chambers; give of us the facts and save the spin for MSNBC.

Good app and great source of news

Doug GB on

United States

App navigation is fine. It is refreshing to get news without all the biased commentary.

Best Analysis

JDFII on

United States

WSJ is trustworthy and provides the best financial analysis from expert reporters and industry experts in a timely manner. The news is relevant and their opinions are on the Opinion page, not tainting news reports as often happens on other media outlets.

Worthless

United States

Try accessing prior day’s content. In fact, try doing anything that was so conducive before the app was revised.

Can’t access content

littlejohn1040 on

United States

Even the best news source in the world is useless if one cannot access its content. I’m subscribed. App won’t let me in. Tech support is non existent.

Checking in months later, the app is still terrible

Dcodea on

United States

I am checking in every few months to see if they have reverted the catastrophic version 14 changes that turned a best in class iPad reading experience into a blog. They have not. I will uninstall. Edit:10/27/24 the app is still terrible. None of the damage done by the version 14 changes has been undone. I will uninstall.

Uses too much storage

GEO444NE on

United States

This app is seriously flawed for at least three reasons that the developers should be able to fix: 1. Many stories link to a webpage where you have to sign in again. 2. The app uses 1-2 GB or more of storage even when there are no saved articles and there is no way to clear the cache (the only way to remedy the issue is to delete the app periodically). 3. Every time you navigate to another app (e.g. Safari), the WSJ reloads and you lose the article you’re reading and where you are in the article. This last one is especially egregious because Apple has a standard way for applications to be coded to “hold their place” when you navigate to another iOS app. For reference, I have plenty of storage and memory on my iPhone and this problem only occurs with the WSJ app.
