Link preview broken

hsichu on

United Kingdom

Link preview has been broken for some time. In addition, the screen often jumps to the top of the page after a word is looked up. Please fix these two issues.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it

The iPad app was perfect, didn’t need to be changed. Well they have changed it, and they’ve ruined it.p,ease re-instate the old version.

Why change the iPad version it was perfect

New version is dreadful

W1246gf on

United Kingdom

The new version is so bad I can not bear to use it. It seems to have ditched old the concept of a daily newspaper entirely, since the “print” edition choice now shows only the front page or something, so now you just have sections to choose from and stories, but at the same time it does not remember which article you have read or decided not to read, so you are lost in a sea. But its also got other strange things like hugely oversized borders on my ipad, and when i press the font size button I simply get a message saying go to settings. That is laughable, it means change the setting of my whole ipad, so there font button basically has been deleted, but they have not removed it, like amateurs. Yet no other app has such borders, and kindle and others retain font choices. Again the bottom bar with the useless print choice and absurd crossword opinion consuming screen space is laughable. I am really amazed by how bad it is. Like kids who know nothing created it and sent their mad ideas to India to implement! Who is in charge and how could they do this? The last app was pretty good, although it was getting worse, e.g. after an update a few months ago it did not save your reading place, and if you used a browser to check something which reading when you returned you would start at page one again. But its not just the aop, the content is going down hill I think as well, e.g. the articles by that silly tech woman who knows nothing and just jokes around, and the podcasts by colourful young reporters from socially diverse backgrounds. Better bloomberg and reuters, which at least is a serious news stream.

What have you done?

Loved my WSJ app but over the last few weeks there has been some sort of update which has eliminated all of the layouts that I enjoyed. It’s next to impossible to navigate the new layout - there is no matching to the daily papers or print format. Hopefully they fix this or else I’ll end up cancelling.

Content great app rubbish

Crussimuessi on

How can WSJ release such a rubbish app. It is so user unfriendly and clunky. Has WSJ never heard about swipe actions?! In order to read different sections you need to press the burger button every time. Even if they just placed the various sections across at the top it would be somewhat more pleasant to use and read.

iPad app version 14

Loyal london reader on

United Kingdom

I very much like the content of the WSJ and been a loyal reader for years. However, the most recent version 14 of the iPad app is a terrible update. It freezes all the time on my iPad Pro. More important, new versions typically provides improved functionalities or performance. In this case, version 14 is much worst than the previous version because I can only see today’s edition whereas I was able to access the past 5 days editions in the past versions of the app. The scrolling also is not continuously so I can to click section by section. There will be many dissatisfied customers if the functionalities are not added back or revert back to the previous version.

iPad app used to be great but they ruined it

MI5? on

United Kingdom

For years I enjoyed the iPad app, which they’ve now thrown out the window without notice. The new version, essentially the mobile app for iPad, is horrific and doesn’t enable you to browse and discover content in an easy and cohesive way like the old one. Cancelling my subscription, what crap.

New update (v14 on) complete disaster

atr6867 on

Don’t update to v14 on, loses daily editions and completely unusable compared to before - hope they fix this mess ASAP

Version 14 on ipad is a disaster

phobosbsd on

United Kingdom

I loved previous version but this new version has destroyed the print view of the wsj on ipad. Impossible to choose the edition day, impossible to swipe between section, no landscape view… the app is really bas and I had to switch back to the print web version to enjoy the paper. I hope you fix this in the next weeks, else I ll downgrade my susbription. 28,99£ per month for this experience is useless. The cheaper suscription will be good enough to use web which is much better today. So disappointed
