A bit sad
Great lights love using them but recently my app on the phone hasn’t been working and I can’t change the color I want
Nice lights; software needs some polish
I love these lights! They’re well thought out and much more enjoyable than more ordinary ones. The software is a bit rough around the edges, particularly for me in these three areas: - The app frequently takes a few seconds to connect to the lights and often has network errors. The status shows green filled meaning local connection, but the power is grayed out. - I’d like the app to be a bit more intelligent about local/cloud connection and just work. - The 15 effect limit is quite low on the device, and there’s no way to choose which effects to keep when you reach it (to lock certain effects so they always stay there). - The effects are particularly difficult with Home Assistant, since they are assigned a number that must be used, but which changes when new effects are added, and you can’t control which ones stay on the device. Small hardware note: the giant transformer plug is impossible to fit into a weatherproof in-use cover. I’d like to see a standard plug with a 0.5 m cord and then the transformer. I’d be open to you contacting me for more details or to test new features.
Good idea but…
I like the idea, very much, except the when it was asking me to hold the remote until it turned greenish blue, it just said device not found. I did this with multiple devices, my phone, my iPad, and nothing worked. I hope you can fix this because I want to change the colours of the lights very badly.
Missing functionality
HomeKit support is pretty sparse and the app is missing basic functionality for scheduling effects. Nice looking app but needs a lot of work.
So Disappointed & Mad!
The concept is great, but….! Worked well last year & until Christmas Day this year & has since failed after the last update. No connection or life anymore. Who does an upgrade during the Christmas season?! So disappointed!
Mapped lights went missing after update
I had my Christmas tree lights all nicely mapped and then *poof* it just went missing. Opened the app after an update (?) and my mapping was gone. Not cool. 😠

I like it but the twinkly app won’t work on my leds anymore and for some reason my lights have gotten red dots everywhere and the lights won’t work :/
These lights are awesome.
This is our third year with Twinkly tree lights and we love them. Easy to use, cool factor is off the charts.
It’s ok
Certainly better than strings with preset patters, but would like better pixel control programmability.excellent for Christmas tree but needs more steps in the dimming to smooth out the color fades. As well, most patterns are based on a square, like the wall or curtain products. Still waiting for an astronomical time clock feature for dusk and dawn settings.
