Very very buggy.
Got my lights (3 sets of 600 string) in 2020 and they worked ok that year. This year one of the three sets wouldn’t connect to app, I contacted tech support and they told me to update firmware. They obviously don’t realise that it’s not possible to do this if you can’t connect to lights. I then realised, having spent more money on lights than ever before I was at the mercy of Twinkly and if not resolved, would mean deciding to buy another set to replace faulty one and run risk that other 2 sets would fail or else abandon the lights altogether and be at the loss of my money. Anyway, I eventually got the set to work after 2 days of resetting and not as a result of help from tech support. In addition to all the above the app is sos so buggy. When I create a new effect for my lights, when I go back to the app the next time it’s gone even though the lights are running it. If I create a playlist, the same thing happens and it deletes the next time I log in. It runs like an amateur made the setup for me, not as a professional entity which it’s supposed to be. I certainly would have bought them had I realised any of these points. There are other alternatives out there and I would recommend anyone check these out first before considering Twinkly unless they really get their act together and solve these software issues. One last point is the power supplies run extremely hot and I fear they are not correctly sized for the purpose. Mine are all at 60C on the surface of the plastic. I am experienced in this area and I am very surprised that this would meet the regulations of either CE in Europe or UL in the USA. Twinkly please get these issues sorted.
