The option to insert an indent on the first word of every paragraph should be available. AI should also be integrated for proofreading.

Ulysses is a sleeper app that has a built in editor and is very simple to write without interruption. I get better text and then edit and move to my end location (or leave in Ulysses). Way under appreciated as a notes and writting app. Update years later - it just helps me write more better heart felt text … other apps drive me crazy. Love it - I am not a pro and ya it cost a few but for me IT WORKS AS MY SPACE TO FLOW 😆👌 Still using Ulysses to journal or write drafts. It’s uncluttered space helps me write more often!

This app is so intuitive. It works with my process. It doesn’t try to force me to think linearly. It allows me to get all the creativity on the page. I am freed from having to worry about where it is supposed to end up. But the parts are organized enough that I can find them when I need and put them into the whole. Thank you!

IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD THE APP DO NOT FALL FOR A FREE TRIAL I signed up after it said I would be notified when it ended. I was not and it charged my card. I will be unable to afford a lot of things this month because of it, and as of now I have not heard back abiut a refund. Keep in mind, I have not utilized the apps services since after it expired, and missed the expiration by a day. I will change my review if I am rightfully refunded, but i wanted to warn everyone.

I normally don’t mind paying for my apps if they are good but this app requires you to do the free trial to even check out the features and that’s just not vibing with me. Let me see these great features you talk about before I give you my credit card info.

Not spending money on a writing app

I went into the app and I thought it looked promising. As I tried to start my story/project it immediately sent me to a free trial page. Which I don’t do free trials or even subscriptions of that matter. So yeah.

I would give this an easy 5/5 stars if I was just rating the Mac app. But, since one of the major features is the cloud syncing and I can download it onto an iPad and IPhone I need to take into account its issues with the IPad. The app on IPad has now and has had for well over a year and issue with the apple Magic Keyboard. The one that acts as both case and keyboard. When using the app after a few minutes of use the touchpad on the Magic Keyboard becomes extremely laggy. You will click on an area and it will take 1-many seconds to respond. But, if you just touch the screen with your finger it responds immediately. I have even had issues where the lag happens to the keyboard too and each letter press takes seconds to respond. I have tried over the course of a year or more to work with Ulysses to fix it on my end but it’s a known issue that they said they are working but so far no fix. The app is amazing on Mac, no issues. The app is almost unusable on iPad with Magic Keyboard, so for that reason I give it a 4/5 stars. I really love the app and hope the Magic Keyboard issue gets fixed because then it’s an easy 5/5 stars.

Starting to see major sync issues when switching from my laptop to my phone which is why I will not be renewing when my year is up. There are other free apps that are nearly instant for this to be an issue in a paid app. Also, I used this app to write my first manuscript and toward the end it critically slowed down my app (70k words). I’m not the type to break out my chapters, I find it best for my workflow to have my work all in one sheet and that handicaps the app tremendously. Currently at 30k on my next project and I’m already seeing signs of slowdowns. Writer beware.
