Reolink

Just purchased this Riolink kit. 1 huge missing feature that all other CCTV providers have is to switch to Landscape mode when turning the phone on its side. Your always stuck looking at the smaller picture. Even non cctv apps have this feature. Also the remote streaming just isn’t as good as the mainstream providers like Hikvision. Riolink can’t keep blame people’s internet connections. I have full fibre of 1gb, 5g on my phone, just completed a speed test and getting over 400mb. I am also a professional installer of large CCTV systems so I’m very familiar with any issues with CCTV kit and this is solely to do with the Riolink software/hardware etc.

The app is terrible. I have wireless cameras. One of which is about 5-6 feet away from our router. My internet is 1gigabit. I’m using an iPhone 15 so pretty much the best available. The app just refuses to load the cameras video feed, and then if it does, it fails to load the stored videos. My phone gets really hot, which means the processor is running overtime, so I can only guess there’s some poor coding causing the app to hang and it’s making the phone fire on all cylinders. It’s just unreliable. Once, the police came round and asked if my cameras caught anyone walking past the street at a certain time. It had recorded an event, but it took 25 minutes to load the footage. 25 minutes!! It would’ve been quicker to walk over to the camera with a ladder, remove the sd card and look on my pc. Absolutely awful app. Needs a complete re-write from the ground up. I have no confidence in these cameras any more.

Very good app and well presented. Would be good to be able to move cameras around in the 4 cam screen like on the desktop. I needed to remove the coaxial wiring system and move to PoE and be future proof.

Bist cctv free good system and very easy nearly one yards I have nothing problem. I’m very happy.

Nothing when movement activated, worked fine before update, everything is switched on…..

It’s a good app, but since the latest version, the channel names have reset themselves to channel 1, channel 2 etc. I’ve gone and renamed them to something more relevant and saved it, but they still reset back to their generic names. Please fix. Version 4.45.1 released and the channel names have now been fixed.

If you buy the whole Reolink kit and hook everything up via their NVR then the ‘scenes/shortcuts’ don’t work at the individual camera level. They used to. For example, if your home and want to switch some cameras off but leave say an outside one on, you can’t using scenes. You can if you don’t use their NCR, but not if you do. Rubbish update.

Since the latest update 14th May the playback system has completely disappeared, I cannot chose a time and day anymore to view any play back files because annoyingly the option has completely been corrupted. Please restore ASAP or my cameras will be replaced with another brand..

I own 6 other brands of camera and this is the best app of the all. Cameras are decent price and AI detection works very well. Only down side is night vision is poor black and white quality. Spending more and get a starlight camera is better but I like the AI notifications on Reolink .
