Description

Get the most out of your rides by turning your smartphone into a motorbiking tool thanks to the BMW Motorrad Connected app.

Plan your dream route or import routes as GPX files with our app.

As the app is connected to your motorcycle, you have the option to record all relevant information for your ride.

If your BMW motorcycle is equipped with a TFT display and connectivity functions, simply connect to your motorbike via Bluetooth for this
Your BMW motorbike does not have a TFT display, but it does have a multicontroller and is equipped for a navigation system? Then simply get the ConnectedRide Cradle and transform your smartphone into a motorcycle display.

Whether you select the "Winding" or "Fast" option, thanks to voice commands to your communication system and navigation instructions that are easy to see on the display, you can always keep an eye on your route. The intuitive operation with the multicontroller allows you to safely control everything without having to take your hands off the handlebars.

Do you want to keep your community up to date? Simply share your riding data and photos on social media.

We continuously develop our app for you – and we hope that you'll stay excited to discover its new functions.

Notes for use.
• This app is part of BMW Motorrad Connectivity and can only be used when connected to a vehicle with a TFT display or the ConnectedRide Cradle. The connection is established wirelessly between a smartphone, the vehicle/Cradle and – if available – a communication system via Bluetooth; the app is operated using the multicontroller on the handlebars. We recommend using the BMW Motorrad communication system for listening to music, making telephone calls and receiving navigation instructions.
• A mobile Internet connection is required to access traffic information. This may incur costs in line with the contract between the customer and their mobile provider (e.g. for roaming).
• Please note that the functionality of your smartphone and the connection to the vehicle also depend on national requirements and factors; BMW Motorrad therefore cannot guarantee that it will be available at all times.
• The BMW Motorrad Connected app will be displayed in the language you have set for your smartphone. Please note that not all languages are supported.
• Continued use of GPS tracking in the background may reduce the battery life of your smartphone.

A great app, but with one major flaw

JeB Norway on

Have used the app on my GS1200A and now GS1250A since rhe app was first released and it has grown to become a great product. Though it has one major flaw: When importing a gpx file containing , where a point it can’t match to its map data it will not calculate a route at all (entirely!!). So if one single road is missing in the map data out of thousands it won’t make a route. This is not how the logic should work, and not how other navigator apps is handling it. What is should do is making a route to the point where it has an issue and then start again as soon as it has data of the route. In between it should make a dotted line and thus ensure it can make a route to our end destination. Approx 20% of my GPX files ends up with “No route found” on the app. I then need to use another app (RideWithGps or Rever) where it actually always work with my gpx files that do struggle on this BMW Connected app. The problem is now accelerating since the same problematic logic is used on the new Connected Navigator as well. Hope you could improve the logic in upcoming releases.

I am positive to this concept. It is the best alternative to a motorrad gps if you want the Bmw wheel on the handlebar to work . Wishes: - make it possible to change an imported route direction. Would helped me on my TET ride in Sweden this year when I was riding on leg the opposite way. - it is a hassle to not be able to make a new route without removing it from the cradle. - the app loose connections with the onboard display from time to time. Thanks and keep improve 🏁

Grei app som kopler iPhone og display på scooter. Vet ikke hvor oppdatert kartet er, men navigasjonsinfo på display er bra og minimalisert, slik at du lett holder fokus på veien og trafikken foran deg.

Steer clear

Skaulen on

I have gone through a bunch of menus to tick off what you think needs to be ticked off for the trip to be recorded, but anyway half the trip is recorded and the rest is not. Sometimes it works fine, other times it doesn't even if nothing has changed on the phone. Example: Today I started from home and drove 80 km. Stop for a ferry which takes 20 minutes. Afterwards, it fails to log anything for the next 267km. absolutely zero contact between phone (Iphone13) and TFT. This is how it is with this bike, which is 1 month old, and how it was with my previous bike (2018). It takes a long time for the phone to make contact with TFT, but that may be TFT's fault. Terribly premature. Absolutely hopelessly bad

Cannot create a BMW id

Narvika on

The app seems to promis great services, but as long as it wont let me register, I really don’t know how good it is. I have filled in all the blanks, clicked «register», several times, but nothing happens! Please help!

Great, but can always be better.

The app is great ! I have an F900XR with the SOS option. Guessing there is a SIM card for the SOS, why not connect the bike to that, so you can track the bike when your away from it? Put up geofencing so you can get an alert if it’s moved.

A couple of bugd

JeB Norway on

Using my Connected app a lot and really enjoy it. Would like to give you a feedback on a couple of bugs: A) When you have imported a route (gpx file)and select Go you get three options: 1) from start point 2) Direct route 3) via start point. Problem is option Direct Route do not work. It always select the start point. Have tried a number of times always same challenge and it will try to guide you back instead of picking up from the point you are located and shortest way to connect to your planned route ( not the start of your route) B) When navigating according to a planned route it will still try to find a shorter route than the planned one and take shortcuts and not follow the route planned and shown on the map. Thanks for a great app that is constantly getting better

2021 BMW R1250RT har IKKE Wifi!

SØR-kunde on

Det betyr at motorsykkelen som er kjøpt MED navigasjonssysten IKKE har et navigasjonssystem. Jeg har nå teipet fast min gamle TomTom gps på motorsykkelen. For noe tysk søppel!!!!

Pretty good

kschjeld on

Works mostly fine, but seems to have trouble reconnecting navigation to TFT after phone calls. Music and phone still works, but app says Disconnected and Navi unavailable on TFT.

Wasted opportunity

thorham on

Do I want yet another navigation app, with downloaded maps? No, I have ten already. And they are all better. Why not just let the TFT take input from Google Maps or whatever app I prefer? Do I want to scroll through my entire phone book? No, I have favorites. Why not show them? Why do I have to pull out my phone to find an artist or an album? Because I use Spotify and not Apple Music, like most people. You think you could at least mention this in the manual? And while you are at it, mention that the scroll wheel does not affect volume. Unless you are the minority who uses BMW speakers. Just toss out the whole system, and go with Apple Car Play, like Honda. Or even better, Drive Mode Dashboard. That is what customers want. Your clunky, proprietary stuff isn't.
